Yes, back in 2018, my entire maybank account kena emptied by these fraud charges. The facebook description is a red herring, it has ntg to do with facebook.

Go talk to bigpay now and file disputes, change your card. It happens all the time.

did bigpay reverse the charges for you ?

Was hit with a USD 10 charge when i was having dinner.

Went online to chat with bigpay customer support to dispute this Facebook charge and the customer service really advised me to wait, saying that this charge might be reversed. I really waited, believing that the customer service had indeed taken note of the dispute and had put a note to it.

A few days later, the charge changed from pending to settled. Received a wishy washy email from the customer service closing the case, i was surprised.

Finally dawned on me that Bigpay got no incentive to take care of your money, so please take care of your money ...

P.S. I managed to save another RM 20 from being robbed by Facebook just after the first transaction. ( they scammers tried all the way down to USD 1 )

Ya got this transactions frm Fb too total 91usd. They told me wait till after today for reversal n to be refunded

At least Bigpay attempted the dispute and try to get a refund for you. They wishy washy away my amount and just offered to send me a new card.

Is it just because it's USD 10.00 and not USD 91.00 ?

Should i be scammed a bigger amount before Bigpay will take action ?

report as stolen means users fault. fraud on the other hand is bigpay's fault.

Guys, check with you which card was used for the fraudulent transactions ?

Was it the physical card ( green ) or virtual card ( white )

Thanks

Yes. Took 90 days I think, it's standard for debit cards.
Bigpay got no incentive, they are OBLIGED to help you. There is nothing you can do to prevent fraudulent card-not-present charges.

I think ppl in this thread need to be fair to bigpay and educate themselves better on how payment cards work.

There are things bigpay could have done better for example:

1. Customer service
2. Dispute process

There are things NOT caused by bigpay:

1. Fraudulent charges
2. Scams
3. Authorization and Capture processes -- aka pending and settled. Settled doesn't mean it can't be disputed, you just need to file it.

You wanna rant, ok, just know where to draw the lines.

Hi Honsiong,

I had called Bigpay the next day to follow up with my case, filled up the dispute form and submitted to Bigpay. A few days later, they came back with the below reply.

Its not that i don't want to submit the dispute form, Bigpay doesn't want to follow up the dispute.

Please read the below and evaluate this reply from Bigpay is acceptable from your viewpoint.

Maybe you can advise me how i could have done better.

Thanks.

Just wanted to add that Bigpay has taken another look into my case and informed me via email that they are investigating the Facebook charges, which may or may not have been a result of my bringing it up in the forum.

Hopefully, Bigpay will upgrade their customer services and communication skills.

Maybe this is the effect of social media, where once an issue is brought out to discuss, the management of the relevant company will take corrective action to minimise any adverse effects to the company

or

Just poor Customer Service communication to the client.

Anyway, I am heartened that Bigpay decided to take corrective action to address my issue.
Looking forward to a positive resolution.

P.S. This was the excerpt of the email i received yesterday :-

Transferred RM 20 to my Hotlink prepaid but has been pending status for a few days already. Customer service does not seem to be working and the help bot seems to be going round in circles...

updated as follows

25/2/2025 - transferred but pending status

6/3/2025 - transaction reversed
