I’m sorry but why is this considered money laundering? Money Laundering is cleaning the dirty money. If thorough investigation was made and found that CC -> BP -> Saving Account -> CC again, the cycle just there. Unless you really try to make debt (using CC) then the money u used to pay your CC doesn’t derived from the money withdrawn from the CC (payment by cash at CDM or etc), then further investigation should be made.
And also, I think is it Victor, or someone also kena ‘suspended’ a few weeks/months back, but I think he managed to get the account activated after giving full cooperation to BigPay.
Using someone else’s CC with their permission is not identity theft. But the cardholder broke the agreements between the bank and the cardholder, hence, BigPay should not penalised their users for using their family member’s credit card.
BigPay is now like a merchant, a store, where users its prepaid card services, and ‘paying’ using credit card, so if a credit card used was not under your name, then the merchant has the right to denied it - if and only if you cant prove that you’re authorised for it.
Back in 2011, where pin and pay was not available, where you have to sign the credit card slip, then the cashier would match the signature to the one at the back of your credit card.
I went to MATTA Fair and used my dad’s credit card to pay for the package. But the staff notice the credit card was not under my name, and ask whether I have permission to use the card.
So what happened was I called my dad as the staff refuse to swipe the card, and my dad called the customer service to inform the merchant that the card was used in the knowledge of my dad. Then everything settled.
So even banks okay with it, but just that i think after that incident hence the reason my dad gave me a supplementary card.
Since this is the modern era, where everything in done digitally, could it be BigPay just wanted to make sure that if any topups were made using family member’s credit card, that it is authorised by that person, after all, OTPs were sent to the CC owner phone.
If a credit card was used and the owner reported it to their bank as unauthorised transaction, and the merchant would have to bear the chargeback (i.e Bigpay), only then it is fair for BigPay to eradicate users who were found committed such activities.
Wow. You surely got patient.
