Hey girls,

Any recommended BB Cream for oily & sensitive skin? I never use to put make up daily for my work but I am starting to apply make up more frequent lately. The only issue is that my face can get oily and I wear glasses, with make up on and after a few hours when my face gets a bit oily, the glasses seem to slide off my nose more easily and that's annoying.

How do I counter that? Do you all just use the oil control film during the mid day? Any tips?

Your skin is dry, that's why it's overproducing oils to protect itself.

When you start to get friendly with make up, the most important thing is to learn how to thoroughly remove the make up first. Suggest you look up oil cleansing method for this, it's good for your oily skin too.

Don't use those "oil films", it'll make your skin more oily in the long run because as mentioned, our skin produce oil as a natural defense mechanism. So if you wipe off the oil, your skin will produce more oil to compensate for the ones you wiped off.

Moisturize & hydrate your skin, make sure it genuinely moisturize...not just based on what it claims on the front label cause those tend to be quite misleading. Read & understand the ingredients.

Oh yes. I do use baby oil to remove stubborn make up sometimes, though I figure that if I'm going to do it daily I might need to get better oil like olive or almond.

So what do you recommend for the moisturizer in the market that is good and won't hurt the pocket much?

I am still learning, so pardon me and my questions.

Baby oil to remove make up? Now that's creative laugh.gif
But why is olive oil or almond oil better? There're many different oils in the market, each has its own unique strengths to cater to different needs & wants. Just take note, cosmetic grade oils are better for skincare, not food grade oils. Food grade is cheap & less suitable for face, e.g. try compare between cosmetic grade olive oil & food grade olive oil from the supermarket.

There're few types of moisturizer depending on your skin conditions & your preferences. Most value for money ones are the pure ingredients e.g. 100% pure olive oil, argan oil, almond oil, shea butter & many more because these are what the creams & the gels are made off. Just 1 drop is enough to cover half the face.

Each oils has different properties too for instance:
- I personally feel argan oil is more for matured skin cause it's richer & more moisturizing.
- Rose hips oil seems to be getting popular but the problem is there are a mixed variety of it in our market & people don't know how to tell a good one from a lousy one
- Tamanu oil has amazing wound healing properties, making it ideal for those with acne or pimples
- Coconut oil is quite comedogenic, so it could clog up your pores - good for body but be careful for face
- Pomegranate oil is a light oil that's rich in antioxidant & surprisingly it has a sweet scent.

There are many more oils out there lol, so take your time to slowly discover them lol.gif
But some people felt that pure oils are too oily for them, so other alternatives are gels based moisturizers or cream based. These are basically oils that has been mixed with something else already to create a different texture. Cream based ones are the most common whereas gel is the lightest moisturizers. Whichever it is, just lookout for what oils are used in those moisturizers cause that's the ingredient that actually moisturizes the skin.

To hydrate the skin, the most popular ingredient now is hyaluronic acid & glycerin. Other common ingredient that can hydrate is honey, aloe vera, floral waters (hydrosols) & of course drink a lot of water.

Oh thanks. The almond and olive are both for the cosmetic ones, won't be using the cooking one. I thought using baby oil is quite popular. And it's effective too! I did find my face shine for a week after one usage, but i supposed if I use proper facial oil would be more beneficial.

I do drink a lot of water, and another thing is how to deal with sweat? Even if the make up is waterproof, sometimes I get scared, especially in our weather like this. It's kinda unavoidable.

Yea almond usually cosmetic grade while olive oil usually food grade, especially if purchased from supermarkets.

Cleansing oil is effective because it's simple & basic, plus those oils helps to moisturize & nourish your skin too besides cleaning it. Very very multi-functional. More beneficial or not, again it depends on which oils are used in the cleansing oil.

Wah dealing with sweat hmm, I got no answer to this as it's skincare has little to none impact on sweat glands. I get sweaty a bit easily too, but fortunately it's not bothering me much.
