Hi all, new CX5 2.0 High owner here. Deep crystal blue.

Would like to ask anyone done comparison of fuel brands between RON 95 and RON 97.

Knew that our model min requirement able to use RON 95.

I have been fueling with Caltex RON97 since 1st tank. Getting avg 12km+/litre. 50% hway, 50% city driving.

Anyone doing other fuel brands, and how's the FC?

Planning a SUV car  here

CX5 vs Subaru XV or Forester due to tempting prices offer by Subare 2021 model
*
Hi there, I have been test drove both Forester and XV, both are CVT tranny, the power is there, but not come as early as Mazda, as Mazda using 6AT Skyactiv drive, which give kind of direct response and power once you pushed on the throttle. While for Forester and XV, initial acceleration will feel kind of underpower, maybe due to CVT behavior, but once CVT starting picking up, the power is there.

XV, the NVH is so bad I would say, even Perodua Alza is way better than XV in terms of NVH, Forester is another level, NVH is on par with CX5, but felt bulky when you drove the car.

Test drove Proton X70, and X50 too, X50 is compact and power is not an issue for that little SUV body, while X70 the power is great! NVH also very good.

I chose CX5 over XV and Forester, because,

- It's not a CVT tranny.
- Simple and neat design. (Can refer door panel of both CX5 and XV, then you will know what I meant)
- Driving feel.

Hi all,

Need to seek advise here. CX5 owner.

I met an accident and got rear ended by other vehicle.
I sent in my car to car dealer (Not SC) and they sent to their own appointed workshop.
Insurance claim for new set of rear bumper and reinforcement bar.

However, issues come after 2 weeks collected car from the dealer.
1. Rear bumper color mismatch with body color. (around 70% match only). Knowing bumper and body different materials, will have bit difference, but mine one is totally wrong.
2. The bumper seems like still the old one, not replaced with new one. Cause found certain spots, looks alike the deformed part of the plastic trim after the accident, but they adjust to correct it back, not to perfection.
3. The paint job is shit. However, they offered to repaint.
4. All the bumper clips (wheel arch there), still marked with factory marking, looks like not tampered/dismantle (if got change to new bumper set).

But the issues now I not sure whether they replaced new bumper for me or not. If they are not, they are cheating on me, as I am being told during insurance claim, they got claim for new bumper set.

I have made appointment with SC for inspection. And requested claim report from the insurance to check the claimed items.

P/S: I am not going to check with my SA, until I figure all this out. Because they surely will ask me to send my car back to them for fixing. The same issues will repeat.
If end result is the old bumper, I am going to file complaint to HQ and screw this dealer!!

Err. anyone with experience how to differentiate if the bumper is replaced? the factory marked clips can be as clue?

thanks for input.

Why not sending it to body and paint centre? They should have 6 months to 1 year warranty iinm after repair. As u claim under the other car insurance, should sent to Mazda Body and Paint at the 1st place
*
It was my mistake also.
After accident happened, first to reach is my SA, asking on the repair and insurance claim etc.
I was asked to put my car there, and he will handle for me.
At first I thought the SA will help me send to Mazda body and paint centre, since he is the dealer.
BUT I AM WRONG, I called to Mazda body and paint HQ asking my vehicle check in status on all Mazda body and paint branches, but its not there.
Fine, as my car still with them, I stay put and let them handle, and worry anything they would do on my vehicle if I report on them.

Since then, I knew they sent to their appointed workshop already.
My point is after car fixing, if its done good quality work and paint job, then its fine. Since I sent the car in already, nothing much I can do.

But now all these problems arise..

I've made appointment with HQ to perform on bumper inspection, if found to be original, not replaced, I will straight complaint on them.
I know its too late for now, but what's been done is done.. sad.gif

I bet This is your first Accident happened. This practice have been long at any private repair shop. That why most people likely to go to his trustable repair shop rather insurance panel recommended. HQ highly unlikely do anything to the dealer because they don’t care. Is about you and the SA insurance claimed. Never trust the Mazda Salesperson.
*
Not the first. But the first for claiming 3rd party.
HQ won't do anything on dealer if found that cheating is done on the customer?
If HQ won't entertain, PIAM will entertain?

Yes. Even if you complain about the warranty at HQ about the slow response of the dealer they also can't do anything. They just kick the ball around. Plus, the insurance claim is between you and the dealer agreement without HQ consent. Based on my knowledge PIAM doesn't care as long they approved the payment and the car had been repaired. That is why many repair shops practice this. You can complain at Tribunal. Good luck
*
I see.

so basically if Insurance, HQ, PIAM, doesn't care on my case, then the last resort is Tribunal already?

But really insurance won't make any noise? since workshop overclaimed the required parts to be repair? Or they also under table money already?

Actually I don't mind if they want to claim extra for their pocket money, but whatever promised to me was not delivered (new bumper), and I really can't accept this.

If those legal channel doesn't work, social media is another options then.

want to check guys. would u recommend to put a 2nd layer tinting on the windscreen on my Cx-5 2022 model? because the sun glare is strong and the heat is hot like hell. i use highway daily to work. I dont know why Mazda accept this kind of tinting and charged me RM1900 without choice.
*
I replaced FWS, remove old tint, replace with 3M crystalline CR60 series.
The rest, I double tint with sputtered film, Tenko.

* When double tint, ask for 2nd layer warranty if possible. Skytint warranty definitely void, anything still have 2nd layer warranty to cover.

The car ambience cools a lot.

Correct. The insurance company only cares about whose liability for the collision and also payment to be paid for the repair. They really don't care much about the authenticity of the original parts. Plus when you pick up the car after the repair is done, you signed the paperwork is what insurance care. You can try to complain about those first until unsuccessful, then you need to head to the tribunal. This is a time consuming process and that's why most shop know most people will not waste the time. Agreed that social media is another best option. Don't think to engage your own lawyer for this because the lawyer cost will cost more than what you claim for.
*
I see. I will take action from my side to dispute first, and come out with a complete update later once everything is settled down.

Hilux rear ended my bumper last night and the paint is cracked

How much to paint it from mazda SC?
[attachmentid=11155768]

If car were to claim insurance from 3rd party, just proceed HQ body paint to claim.
Please ask them check your car rear bumper reinforcement bar as well, usually if bumper hit till crack like this, the rear reinforcement should be affected already.

Will be taking delivery of my cx5 2.0 High this week. Itching to change to 19" rims. Apparently SA said it won't void the warranty. Bad idea?
*
Consult Mazda HQ, your SA advice does not implies the warranty acknowledgement from Mazda.

1. Bigger size rims, improved handling, but heavier load, increased FC, power decreased (2.0 engine's power just sufficient enough to push that 17inch donut)
2. Standard size rims, comfort, FC standard (11 to 13 km/liter)

Hi, would like to ask, anyone encounter front wheel knocking noise when passed through uneven road, and it is noticeable at passenger side.

Car year 2021, 2.0 High model. Mileage clocked about 12k, but already encounter this issues, quite disappointed with the build quality on a 150k-ish car.

Contacted HQ, but need appointment on weekdays to perform checking, which I don't have the time to do so. Hence asking members here if anyone encountered before, and mind to share the solutions.

*Just to get prepared before sent in the car for diagnosis.

Thank you.

My family car cx5 had that, went to near SC unable to find the culprit. Send to mazda gleanmarie body and paint, turn out to replace the steering clock spring. Then another, rear tyre wheel bearing for car with mileage less than 10k km. Both claim warranty, not sure if it quality parts or special circumstances
*
What? wow.. steering clock spring eh? Does it solve the issue after replacement?

guys few questions

for 2.0 high spec current version

1. infotainment screen is 7" or 8"?
2. auto lights applicable on front and rear lamp?
3. can i-stop function to be turned off?
4. walk away car lock?
*
1. Current default 8".
2. Both front and rear lamps.
3. Turn off by manual pushing the i-stop button after car start every time. Alternative, OBD or program to turn off permanently.
4. Yes. But it only works if key fob near enough to the car and all the doors are close, then follow by a beep sound. If key fob not near enough to the car, it will not auto lock. Happened few times already, hence I always double check by pressing lock button on the remote key fob.
