2.0gls is about 2.5 months. 2.2d has less demand. Could be 2 weeks to 3 months.

Thanks for the reply, bro. Hoping to test drive the 2.2d and the 2.5GLS tomorrow...:-)

Cheers to all!

Which branch you'll go for the test drive?
If Glenmarie, you can test the cornering along Jalan Kerjaya, just watch out for family of monkeys that sometimes appear along the road
*
Yup Glenmarie... Thanks for the tips. Will check it out with both models as available. Yours is a 2.2d right?

Yup.
Mine is 2.2D Fwd.

Traffic in Glenmarie is reasonably quiet during the weekend but the LRT construction along Persiaran Kerjaya are not good to test the pick-up and acceleration, so maybe you can ask the SA to take you to Federal Highway to test for speed.
*
Ok will do, bro. Have read so much about the car. Can’t wait to try them out:-)

Ok friends...some update on my test drive of both the 2.5GLS and the 2.2D yesterday just before noon. I arrived a little late and wanted to test the 2 models so I didn't ask the SA to take the highway route (perhaps just as well cos traffic was heavy by the time I left Glenmarie).

I took more or less the same route with both cars for comparing the feel and slow/fast speeds. Perhaps it's me but the 2.2D felt "heavier and more planted"...a bit like a conti than the 2.5GLS. Of course, the low-end torque was clear with the diesel. While both w\cars were relatively quiet at normal speeds, the 2.5 while as quick to accelerate seemed louder... Cornering also seemed better controlled with the 2.2D (as with the 3008 I also tested later at Peugeot next door:-))

Generally felt more comfortable with the 2.2D (also with the additional features it comes with albeit at a slightly bigger price)... Called my SA in Bangi and confirmed the model:-) Now the wait... ((blue or meteor grey):-)

Definitely 2.2D over 2.5 GLS given if you are okay with diesel. If I have the extra dough, I'll also go for 2.2D but for now I'll stick with 2.0 GLS XD
*
I'm definitely ok with diesel, bro Duckies... Like my son says, it's like the 320d, a little noisy on the outside but much quieter inside:-)

BMW 320i engine idle sound also sounds like diesel engine.

Wow...how come the 320i too sounds like that hmm.gif I had an old e34 525i which used to hum sweetly in full tune:-) Wondering if all F30s are indeed noisy...timing chain? Thanks for the video 'evidence' anyway, bro smile.gif

My SA confirmed with me factory fitted power boot is for bookings from SEP onwards and additional RM2k. My AWD 2 2D is Dark Crystal Blue. Although I booked for the Soul Red, I accepted rhe DCB when it was offered to me. I booked end July and got my car mid-August.
*
My SA too just confirmed that delivery from November onward will come with power boot at additional RM2K. I booked late August.

If yes, I don't mind paying 2k and sending the car to SC for the fitment and changing the key fob.
*
Yup bro widget...Willing to pay the additional 2K for a factory-fitted powered tailgate with the key fob...

Oh forgot to ask...do you guys Break-in the car before 1000km service? Usually I do that with new car and keep the RPM below 2000 until first service done.
*
I think modern cars are already run in at the factory before delivery. Still no harm in taking it easy before first service as noted by all here. Waiting for my new Cx-5 still...:-)

Guys wanna ask,

If we pay the deposit including the premium color..

then if the SA offer the non-premium color, we can get back the extra 2,000 we pay right?
*
Of course we should get back the extra money paid for the premium colour. Right guys?

Yesterday, my SA offered Sonic Silver in place of Deep Blue I asked for...no extra payment but I will wait I said:-)

No special break-in is necessary, but a few precautions in the first 1,000 km (600 miles) may add to the performance, economy, and life of your Mazda.

• Do not race the engine.

• Do not maintain one constant speed, either slow or fast, for a long period of time.

• Do not drive constantly at full-throttle or high engine rpm for extended periods of time.

• Avoid unnecessary hard stops.

• Avoid full-throttle starts.

• Do not tow a trailer.
*
Now that is very clear how we should care for our new car... Thanks bro Skeith thumbsup.gif

Never tried max speed. Takut takut.

The highest I've tried is 180 and it doesn't feel as steady as a conti car would.

Up to 160 is okay.
*
Yup..me takut2 too. My 2.2d at around 4K km on the odo. Although it can accelerate to 180 easily, it doesn't feel as stable as my old 525i. When I was doing this speed on the highway last week, a Passat just swept past as though it was nothing for him:-)

Never tried them before but saw stabilizer cars-front and back-advertised for CX-5...wondering if they might be any good?

Contis suspension, balance and car weight is simply on a different level. I doubt we can mod much to fight that. Even if we can do, it'll be definitely sacrifices something else.

Yeah...you can say that again:-)

AFAIK, only 2.2D gets Helix Ultra for free.
2.0 and 2.5 need to top-up.
That’s for Bermaz SC though, not sure for dealers.

Just did 30k servicing at Bermaz Glenmarie for my 2.2D yesterday noon.
Really slow turnaround time at this SC. Appointment at 2:30 and only collected my ride at 6:30.
And I still need to come again next month to replace the lower arm bush
*
Widget, 30K already... My 2.2D around 4K from 3 November. Lower arm bush scheduled replacement or faulty? Cheers, mate:-)

Mine about a year old already. Collected mine a week before 2018 CNY.
Faulty lower arm bush, which is a common issue with both version of CX-5. Mine happened only recently but there are few users who encountered this problem within 3 months of ownership.
Luckily it is under warranty but they did not have time to replace it during normal servicing so they fixed a new appointment after CNY to have the bush replace.
*
Wow...a year old from CNY 2018 to CNY 2019:-) One year does sound fair for some fault with the front end bushes for what I think is a rather front-heavy SUV but after 3 months or so is too close for comfort hmm.gif But as you say, the warranty takes some of the pain away I agree...

Still, all said it's a great car to drive with all the available mid-range torque... nod.gif

BTW Happy New Year to you and all our Chinese friends here...Gong xi fa chai! Take care when on the road, buddies thumbup.gif
