maybe i can help you here as i have both of them (Cx-5 2.0 GLS - 2020, Civic TC 2016).
Handling wise, you will feel civic is better. But I feel the steering is much heavier than CX5's. So for town ride, I will prefer Cx5 haha.
Now, for power, nope, Civic will cruise the hills with not much effort, CX5 is okay, but you know it's working hard for it.

In terms of space, though civic is spacious, but there's not much space or holes to throw your stuffs u know? When u sit in, that's the space, CX5 has more places to put things.
And, Civic has the annoying steering rack issue, i fixed mine once, now it seems to be back 

I have yet to go for long journey with CX5, i just drove on Penang bridge, seems okay to me.
I don't get why you say the tech is old in CX5, i'd take CX5's interior anyday, memory seat function, and the annoying sensors (in a good way), 360cam, front cam all good for me.
