Eh guys, where do official Mazda does their power boot? Just went to a Lexus showroom and it seems cool to have a power boot XD

Kinda itchy to get it install. I don't need the leg sweep. 2k and 5 years warranty is good enough for me.

Current cx5 owners already doing the power boot externally. There are shops that import the power boot set from overseas(cx5 overseas comes with power boot long time already, shops just install the things that factory didn’t install for you).

Afaik, the set include the leg swap, you can just don’t use the leg swap but it will be there, wouldn’t be any cheaper without if it install leg swap less. I may be wrong as I install it quite long time ago on the cx5 and there may be new different parts d.

Yea I know. But I am not looking for those third party. I remembered that I saw somebody mentioned here or maybe Facebook group that there's a shop doing power boot officially for Mazda (or Mazda outsourcing it to them) which comes without leg sweep and it comes with 5 years warranty.

The third party is the one with leg sweep, 2 years warranty and around 3k.

When I sent my car for 20k servicing at Glenmarie, I asked the SA if those without power boot can be retrofitted with factory-installed power boot.
They said can only recommend authorized installers but the warranty will be 2 years, unlike 5 years for favtory-installed and using existing 2-button key fob, i.e. no option to change to the new 3-button key fob.
*
Did you ask how much is that? Same as those third party?

After days of driving my car, unfortunately I have experiencing rattling sound coming from the engine or middle of the dashboard.

Will go for a check like what admin Duckies advised

3. Vibrating or sound front engine
- Possible engine mounting. Proceed to consult SC for a fix.

Will this check takes alot of time?
*
How loud is the rattling? Mine is subtle but it's there. Seems like from dashboard hmm.gif

dull or fading? if fading make sure ur dashboard are covered under sun. expose to too much sun is not good for your dashboard and steering wheel. The first is going to worn out is the steering wheel. the leather will start peeling off. The dashboard will not last long also.. bye.gif

QUOTE(iguana_tan @ Oct 18 2018, 01:18 PM)
is toward dull so thinking of apply some "Meguiars QUIK INTERIOR DETAILER" for it sooner...
thanks for the advice, I will put a sun shade on it when parking under hot sun.

Hi guys, just collect my cx5 last Friday.
Found out my passenger head rest is not horizontally even.
I swap around the head rest, it is not the seat problem.
This one can claim warranty? ask them to change a new head rest for me?
*
Yea you can definitely go to the nearest SC and ask them to fix it or replace a new one.

Mazda’s BOSE is overated. And it cause more problem then our speakers.

Users who own BOSE will have dilemma when they thinking for an upgrade.

——————————

BTW, Lane-keeping Assist System experinment complete. Perfectly fit for CX-5 2.0/2.5 GLS without changing meter.
*
QUOTE(iq_myst @ Oct 22 2018, 01:57 PM)
bro, your lane keeping assist include steering intervention? or just the warning?
*
I think his one has both steering intervention and warning since he has the 2.2D dashboard.

So keith, it doesn't need a new dashboard for the Lane-keeping Assist System to work?

Guys any idea how to easily DIY to disable I-Stop? I too lazy to press off button every time start my car. (CX5 Gen 2)

I want to default off, then have it activate manually when I feel like wanting to use it
*
As far as I know there's no default off, then activate back manually when you want.

We can off it permanently though.

There is a switch, just that it resets with each start..  smile.gif  Either have a hack installed or use a piece of paper.. You do it yourself and it costs barely nothing.. Personally, I've grown used to just switching it off with every start.. It's a pain. They really should have given a software option to toggle it off or on permanently. I would prefer the auto-hold feature to be automatically switched on with each start, instead of the istop.
Yep, I believe it's just the addition of powered boot with 3 button key fob.. Price increased too.. So there's that. I'm eagerly awaiting faster USB ports in the front and official AA & CP.
*
Yea I am getting used to switching off i-Stop as well along with switching on the side windows. I sincerely hope the update for AA and CP will come end of the year but it doesn't look good sweat.gif

On a side note, there's this subtle rattling sound somewhere at the gear area there that I can't pinpoint the exact location...irritates the hell out of me.

Sure it's not a pair of sunglasses in its holder up top? I too heard some rattling, turned out to be that.. Changed its position and voila.. No more sound. I still get the occasional noisy/grinding sound from releasing the brakes. Especially if the car's wet.
*
I did open up the holder up at top but there's nothing there since I don't usually put my sunglasses there. Anyway the rattling sound disappeared this morning..weird... sweat.gif

Noisy/grinding sound from the brakes are always there...unless I press them lightly.

I found that if wait for too long, like your case around 1min, or if the weather is really hot. The engine will come alive itself.

I found a rattle sound around driver side’s window button there. You guys have?
*
Rattling here and there. Not sure if the NVH is too good so can listen to all these small rattling sounds sweat.gif
