Anyone installed dash cam (front and back) in the CX-5? Can recommend whether to DIY or get it from car workshop and have them installed it?
*
Depends how good is your DIY skills.
If you want to tap from the fusebox and hide the cable along the pillar all the way to the boot, expect to pay about Rm150 to 200 at accessory shop.

You can check Blurjoey reviews of dashcam in the main FF forum. I’m thinking of replacing my Mini 0906 dual cam to either iRoad X9 or Thinkware F800 Pro for their true parking mode functions.
China-made dashcam implementation of parking mode is still lightyears behind Korean brands

The current reverse cam is good enough for me. I don't need what super assist as I am ok with parking my car. All I need is dashcam to record accidents.

You misunderstand.. Widget was referring to a feature on select dashcams.."Parking mode" and not a self-parking system.. Meaning the ability to record properly while engine is off and car parked.

And the latest ones with parking mode also throw in some cool features (it’s more software than hardware) where it detects lane departure, collision warning and car departure(where at traffic light the car infront moves while you are blurcase in your car, it alerts you to move before the bmw at the back horns you 😂)

The main thing is the clarity of the video, as you don’t want to take the video of the car who hit you and run away while your car is parked , only to find out that it’s not clear enough to get the car plate cause it’s dark/ car drove away too fast/ too bright etc.

I am having this issue too. The rattling sound always happen during early morning or at night. Already took a video of the sound and waiting for my 1k service.

Price you'd have to Google.. As already shared, the Koreans are ahead in that department.. Can range into thousands for the high end stuff laugh.gif .. Never installed on any of my wheels yet.. So can't recommend an installer. Do check the dashcam thread for more info.

No lah, I'm the "BMW" at the back that horns the blur fellow at the traffic lights. laugh.gif.. My threshold is 5 seconds. sweat.gif

True, which is why I'm fond of Viofo's cams.. Great performance at affordable pricing.

Hi guys, need some clarification regarding the warranty

user posted image

As what i know, the maintenance will be free for the first 3 years/60,000.

Meaning whichever comes first is it?

From what I understand, the maintenance will be free up to the 60,000 KM from the pic above and start witht he 8th service we need to pay right? eventho its still less than 3 years.

Added to the owner list.

I have rattling sound too, especially at low RPM and uneven road. Just have to live with it I guess. The car really vibrates a lot and it's really the "driver and car in one" concept. What I meant is here is that I can feel the kind of road I am currently on. Tar road? Brick road? Grass road? I can feel the difference.

Viofo A129 is good but out of my budget so I just use the Yi Dashcam. Pretty good but not recommended if you always under the hot sun since it uses battery and not capacitor.

As what already explained by Voncrane, the parking mode in dashcam refers to the recording mode when your car is parked, with the engine switch off.
Nothing to do with the built-in reverse camera.

The Korean brands parking mode normally have motion detector, time lapse, full time recording with lower freq, etc while China-brand PRC might not have some of the parking mode features of Korean brands.
Parking mode features use the car battery (installers will tap from car's fuse box although some can also use external pack battery source), so if not properly installed or implemented, you might have a flat battery when you want to start the car on the next day.

Of course you have to pay extra for Korean brands 2-channel dashcam with prices ranging from Rm1k to 2k, while China-brand 2-channel dashcam such as Mini 0906, Viofo 129 cost about Rm500-700, excluding installation

VS and GC is a myth and does not work. There are a lot of debate on this and there are yet to be any proof that shows it works.

But it's your money. If you feel better installing them then go ahead.

Thanks but I read a lot of good reviews after installed the VS and GC. Will do more due diligence ...

Just completed modifications for my 2nd Gen 2.0 GLS.

Now equipped with,
SCBS-F/R, LDWS/LAS, DAA, HBC/AFS, Cruise Control/ Adjustable Speed Limiter, Built-in Compass.

Finally, a full 2.2D iactivesense experience. Except for the D experience.

Edit: lets assume AFS + HBC = ALH to comfort my wallet a little bit.
