I received a statement today for my OCBC CC which I never use for years. Then at the same time they told me I got outstanding 25bucks. I was like wtf. So I call the bank and ask. And here we go SST for cc. Without further talking I cancel it.
And I have AM Bank and I was about to call them but they called me to intro their offers. I told that I'm about to call you but you call me first. So first question they ask, you want to cancel your CC right? Wtf again. So since you straight forward, I cancel it. So both bank gone for good.
As the rest got no choice cause need it. One question, can the SST be waive?
At this moment in time, no. Unless government revises its policy. And I have AM Bank and I was about to call them but they called me to intro their offers. An excerpt, taken from Maybank, regarding Service Tax waiver:
"Service Tax waiver is not allowed as this is a regulation governed by Service Tax Act 2018"
But I believe (almost) all banks give the option of using reward/card points to pay the Service Tax.
Speaking of which, I vaguely remembered there was a petition to reduce the service tax or something... Not sure what's happened to it now...
