Some people have many credit cards, especially those without annual fees or those where annual fees can be waived easily, just in case any promo pops up
Now all those will have to be cancelled
Some have a few cards from the same bank, one for points , the other for cash back, another is store specific
sometimes cards comes bundled together
all of those will have to be cancelled.
Having 10 or more credit cards is not unusual nowadays

Before GST time it was RM50, and normally can be waived by the bank by certain condition. Let see how it goes now.

Another dumb ass, regressive move. Removing a more transparent and fairer tax for SST and now bringing back the credit card tax? Those credit card cashbacks are damn useful.

This! I have been using credit cards to get cashback to lower my overall costs.

As long as those peasants enjoy not seeing the tax rate in their receipt then ok. We need to make the peasants happy. They don't mind paying the same price or slightly higher as long as they don't see the word 'tax' in their receipt.

No, this one was charged starting in around 2010 if I am not mistaken. RM50 service tax + Annual fee. Depends on bank, they will absorb the sales tax. This RM50 was removed after GST implementation. GST was applied to annual fee & its service charge, but if your card has no annual fee and pay on time, no need to pay GST.

Credit card encouraged people to get credited (to borrow money) unlike Debit Card or Mobile Payment, which teaches you to manage your financial wisely

I agree.
CC is for those people who know how to control their financial properly.
If cannot control, better stick to DC or Mobile Payment.
