Full list: Canned sardines, processed foods among SST exempt goods

Canned sardines, instant noodles and other processed or manufactured foods are among numerous items that will be exempted under the returning sales and services tax (SST).

These items had previously been taxed under the goods and services tax (GST), which Pakatan Harapan had blamed for the rise in the cost of living.

Goods that were already tax exempted under the GST, such as fresh and frozen produce and meats, remain exempt under the SST.

Customs director-general T Subromaniam said other goods will be subject to either five percent or 10 percent tax, but added that the list of taxed items has yet to be finalised.

Services subject to six percent tax under the SST include accommodation and hotels, insurance, dining, electricity, clubs, gambling, and telecommunications services.

The Customs Department has published an extensive list of tax-exempt items, which can be viewed at this link.SOS

SST EXEMPT GOODS LIST

list, thanks to duhknight

PETALING JAYA: Car prices will not go up because of the Sales and Services Tax (SST) system because they are exempted.

The list of exempted goods under GST includes sedans, four-wheel drives, station wagons and race cars.

It also includes various car parts, such as accessories, fuel pumps and fuel cut-off valves.

Car sales went up recently after the zero-rating of the goods and services tax (GST) in June, ushering in a tax holiday period until the SST comes into force on Sept 1.

The spike in car sales was based on the assumption that the government will restore the 10% SST imposed on cars prior to GST.sos

So perodua penipu scammer? This circulating around fb now.
Attached Image
The funny thing is, back on 1 April 2015, Perodua only dropped price rm95 for a rm60k car when switch SST to GST, but now wanna switch back to SST naik rm2k?
Attached Image
Though they did reduce rm3k when GST zero-rate on 1 June 2018.
Attached Image
And now we see CKD car exempt, huh, so Perodua all CBU Japan issit?

I would't know...

but this is just a proposed list so it might not be passed by the parliament...

as usual...government is trying to help the people by lowering the taxes but the businessmen are taking advantage on the consumers by maintaining their prices thus increasing their profits

the powerpoint also not accurate
insurance with GST should more expensive than insurnace without GST
why they put in same price

and 10% charge of SST is from their price (without profit), not the selling price too
they need to show what is the "cost" of their car , and base on that figure only charge 10%

misleading powerpoint

most probably will increase "slightly"
car price are determined by car manufacturer
not dealers

they dont produce mostly of their own parts
most parts are purchased from other speciality manufacturer
only them need to pay taxes to gomen
parts are taxable...so the cost will raise
hence selling price also will increase

all along 10% SST and 6% Service Tax ..!!! they just revert back to old times..!!! I personally think GST is a better Taxation format, only the previous government too greedy start it at 6% and failed to implement it correctly and misuse the fund aka like personal ATM bank account..!!!!
