Pirlo and Totti not playing in the same position so really can't compare the two. I think Alesandro Rossina from Torino will become a great replacement for Totti in a few years time. The problem is he is still young right now and lack the experience that Totti got. He is doing well in the Under-21 squad though. Looking forward to him wearing the Azzuri jersey in the future...
Anyway I personally think AS Roma will benefit from his retirement form the national team |

QUOTE(dulano @ Nov 16 2008, 03:14 AM) let hope a win over lazio can boost roma's morale and form Now that you have mention it, it seems Roma has a special liking for Brazilian GKs. All 3 of them are brazilians if i didn't remember wrongly...on a sidenote, it seems roma's GK depth is not strong enough, i cant see artur or sergio cover well for doni and good to see brighi gets his run in the 1st team |

For me, Lazio actually wanted the win more as can be seen by their determination aft they conceded d first goal. But Roma did well to hold on to the lead. Btw, i thought Menez was quite selfish. Always hv chance to pass but rather go for the shot. His finishing also so-so only.
Agreed Zarate was really good. It's just a matter of time b4 he earn his calls up from Maradona. |

Yup, good win for Roma. But the defense really scared me. The marking was not tight enough, thus giving Cluj strikers too much space. But it's kinda expected when you have two attacking full backs. Great result, now only need to beat Bordeux at home to finish top of the group.

Roma vs Bordeux tonight!!! Hope Roma will go out and play for a win. Finally Menez started to show potential. Hopes that the 8 millions spend on him will be good money.
But somehow I hope Chelsea can't qualify to the next round. That Scolari clown too arrogant going as far to say he will go back to Brazil if Chelsea lose. Will be supporting Roma and Cluj tonight |

Great result! Too bad Inter go and lost and finishin second behind Panathinaikos. Now only left Sporting as the weaker team in the second pot.

QUOTE(-Y- @ Dec 19 2008, 10:18 AM) I love Totti but had to disagreed bout ur statement that Italy lack good strikers. I thk they hv more strikers in their disposal than players in oth department. Strikers like G. Rossi, Quaglerella(4gv my spelling), Cassano, Pazzini, Balotelli and even Gillardino are all decent if not good strikers. They're all still in their early mid 20's and yet to reach their peak. So, yeah, Italy do hv good strikers. It depends on whether Lippi will use them in the future matches anot. |
