Tonetto strengthens Roma ties

AS Roma left-back Max Tonetto has signed a two-year contract extension that ties him to the Serie A club until June 2010.

Tonetto, who turned 33 last weekend, has appeared eleven times in Serie A and made three UEFA Champions League appearances for the Giallorossi this season. He joined Roma in 2006 in what is the ninth stop of an itinerant career, much of it spent at clubs with a lesser profile, and his efforts for the Giallorossi earned him an international debut in June in Italy's 2-1 victory over the Faroe Islands.
