Directions to Glow CC, G IT and The Summit Batu Pahat

From northern states, it is advisable to exit from the Yong Peng toll. As you exit the toll, you will reach a T-junction whereby you turn right according to the signboard. Move along the stretch of road till you reach another signboard requiring you to turn left. From then on, you will reach the traffic light on Jalan Bukit Pasir as depicted on the map. On that day of the tournament, if you are having trouble finding your way around, you may contact Calvin whom will be able to help you around.

What do you mean by reserve? Does it mean that you wish to book a place without confirming your participation? wat iccg?

I would think he meant the Inter College Cyber Games (ICCG) hosted by Asia Pacific Institute of Information Technology (APIIT). Unfortunately, it's hard to find a date that doesn't clash with another competition. I do tend to try to avoid it with SMM DotA though.

how much is the prize money for iccg? if is bigger then batu pahat then mayb we go for iccg hehe....btw where to check the info for iccg?

Unfortunately, I have no information regarding the tournament or the prizes involved.

IMO, extending the slot is a good idea as many KL teams will go to Batu Pahat to participate in this tourney. The more the merrier, lol.

Seriously, I would love to expand it to 64 teams but not right now as we are in the midst of changing certain things. I have been nagged all over to expand the current slots. Then again, we would like to take this opportunity to host this competition in which preparations would be made to do another one on a bigger scale (namely 64 teams or more) based upon the current one. Since this is a first for us to host such a competition, we can of course learn much from it. Such a move would raise awareness regarding competitive gaming among players which my town currently lacks. Of course, support from all of you would be very much appreaciated in the '2nd edition' competition which we would hold in the near future.

BTW, I would try to list the teams out as soon as possible. Thanks for your interest

another dota tourney ! its just getting better and better !

Good news peeps. We are no longer limiting the competition to 32 teams. However, in doing so, we would need teams to meet certain requirements. Previous teams and new teams who wish to confirm their places in the competition would have to pay either by bank-in (you would need to fax the bank slip to Calvin) or by person. I would be in KL on 27th June (noon time) to 28th June tomorrow and you can pass me team details and the registration fees. Calvin would in KL from 28th June (night time) till 30th June.

The deadline is as stated which is 8th of July. Any registration beyond the date will not be entertained.

The registration fees we receive for teams beyond the 32 teams would be pooled into the prizes according to the proportion of the prizes.

First prize: RM5000 + [50/98 X (extra team's registration fees)]
Second prize: RM2500 + [25/98 X (extra team's registration fees)]
Third prize: RM1000 + [10/98 X (extra team's registration fees)]
Fourth prize: RM500 + [5/98 X (extra team's registration fees)]
Fifth prize - 8th prize: RM 200 + [2/98 X (extra team's registration fees)]

The prizes will be in rounded figures so extras will go into the first prize.

Brackets and the game time for each teams will be posted 2 days before the competition. We would be strict on the game time and all teams are required to be at the game zone 30 minutes before their allocated time.

Hey there peeps! I would like to remind all of you that we have yet to receive payments from 2-3 teams. Most of you have banked in or pass it to me/Calvin. It wasn't at first an option to include Singaporean teams since we only limited it to 32 teams and it was a Malaysian-First priority. However, they are free to join now. So, if you know anyone interested, they can contact me I'll try to work out something for them. We're working on a tight schedule here with all the last minute Malaysian-style registrations

this tourney will be an interesting one. hope that cybertime can join and defeat singapore's clans once and for all.

hoping to see zenith and mi2 in this tournament..

RoA got a fair share of chance since Malaysia drew with Singapore in Prime Nation play day 3. So maybe if Zenith join, then we can see whether they can settle the score this time. Revenge is always sweet. =)

it will be interesting to see how much teams like RoA , MKVL, SK benefited from joining MYM tourney and playing with

those teams from different parts of the world, whether they improvement have bring our malaysia teamplay

standard on par with the top singapore teams,

in my opinion, i feel teams like RoA and MKVL really benefitted from the healthy amount of competitive games they

gotten from joining in MYM tours, that why their performance have been so "sharp" and cohesive during the Sino

tournament , these 2 teams really make good effort to keep their gameplay in top shape, while others have slacked ,

and complain of lag problem of MYM tourney, these 2 teams are rewarded for actively participating in MYM

tourney.

IMPORTANT!

As obligation to Sendi Mutiara Multimedia due to sponsorships and stuff, we will be changing certain rules for this tournament. I am very sorry for the late notice but we have only had a meeting several hours ago and came to this conclusion. These set of rules, I believe, will be implemented for SMM Selangor qualifiers onwards (might be further clarified by Lim or underminer). Seedings and brackets will be done by underminer and will be out at a later date. I will also call up teams to confirm the change of rules. If you know any teams that will be joining, please do inform them of the change of rules. Thanks a lot for your help in this matter.

P.S. Registration is still open but will close soon. Do register ASAP in order to not miss the chance to pit yourself against the likes of the very best in the Malaysian DotA gaming scene.

Changes from the former rules are :

1. BristleBack (BB) is allowed to be drafted again.
2. Added a "take out hero" draft before the drafting sessions. It will be conducted using the 1-1-1-1-1-1 format.
3. The drafting will be changed to the 1-2-2-2-2-1 format.
4. All drafting are done before the game starts. -AP will be typed in game.

The rules are almost the same as MYM but differs at slight points. This includes rules for backdooring and sharing of control.

Rules

Game Version: v6.43b

. Competition Method: 5 vs. 5
. Tournament Structure: Single Elimination
. Match Length: Until a winner is decided
. Match Winner: The player who completely destroys the opponent's Ancient or if the opponent surrenders.

* Coin Toss
The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose:
(a) Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or
(b) the first hero selection from drafting

* Game Mode: Extended League Mode. (-Ap mode will be typed in-game)

1. Both teams will be allowed to take out up to 3 heroes from the pool of heroes before drafting starts. This will work based on a 1-1-1-1-1-1 format. Teams can choose to stop taking out heroes before the maximum 3 heroes limit and their turn to take out the heroes will be void.

1. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
2. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
3. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
4. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
5. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
6. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero

A maximum of (but may not up to) 6 heroes can be taken out before the drafting session happens. After the taking out draft finishes , teams will proceed to pick the heroes for the game.

2. Picking heroes: 1-2-2-2-2-1

1. Team one will pick: 1 hero
2. Team two will pick: 2 heroes
3. Team one will pick: 2 heroes
4. Team two will pick: 2 heroes
5. Team one will pick: 2 heroes
6. Team two will pick: 1 hero

* Game Play

1. Sharing: The sharing of wards, consumables, and gems is allowed. The following items are the only allowable items which may not be sold if transferred:
a) Sentry Wards b) Observer Wards c) Lesser Clarity Potion d) Ancient Tango of Essifation e) Flask of Sapphire Water
f) Gem of True Sight g) Scroll of Town Portal h) Aegis of the Immortal i)Cheese

2. Item Limitations :

. Each team may only have two Mekansm
. Each team may only have two Necronomicon
. Each team may only have one Refresher Orb
. Each team may only have one Arcane Ring
. Each team may only have in total either :
(a) Two Eul's Scepter of Divinity OR
(b) two Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse OR
(C) one Eul's Scepter of Divinity and one Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

3. Backdooring in games is allowed.

* Abuses & Exploitation:

1. Trees Trapping (Disqualification): Trapping enemies in trees intentionally is not allowed.

2. Pooling (Warning or Game Loss): No pooling of any sort is allowed. This means that items bought with a player's own money cannot at any time be carried by any of his teammates. Items bought with the player's own money can only be carried or sold by him. This rule only applies to players on the same team. Players can pick up items dropped by their opponents. Sharing of allowable items are allowed to be transferred but not sold.

3. Pause Abuse (Warning or Game Loss): During hero selection. From the point after hero selection process is completed, pausing without any valid reason is disallowed.

4. Creep Blocking (Disqualification): Creep blocking is not allowed but creep slowing is allowed. Blocking here refers to the prolonged blocking of creeps to disrupt their usual path. (ie: Using Chen's creeps to block the entire entrance of the base for a long time.)

5. Bugs Exploitation (Warning , Game Loss or Disqualification): No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play. Explanations like "exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly", "we had no idea this bug existed" or similar excuses will not be entertained. Participants/Teams are expected to know what these are.

Examples of Bugs:

Earthshaker using Fissure to target out of the edge of the map. Results in a fatal error in some instances. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.

Black King Bar cannot be shifted or dropped. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.

6. No control sharing (Disqualification): Strictly no control sharing. Only when there is one more or team mates disconnects, then you can share the control of that player(s)' hero. However, you cannot take, pass or sell that hero's item(s).

* Penalties Awarded:

Warning : After warning is given games goes on. If three warnings are accumulated then the team will be ejected from the tournament upon receiving the third warning.

Game Loss: Game loss given to a team mean the team loses the current game no matter what is the result of that game. A win would be awarded to opponent instead.

Disqualifications: A team disqualified will be ejected from the tournament. They will not be able to continue further in the current event.

Nice stuff, already expected that SMM will change the rules into -xl, its more fair in that way and it also promote more competitive play by getting more creative drafts. Maybe we wont be seeing so much of QOP, SK, Spectre, Warlock anymore. Wise decision. At least other country ppl wont say that Malaysia dota is outdated and Malaysian player has no adaptability over the game. =)

Changes are definite, from version 5 to version 6, from team pick to all pick. Its something that all of us must adapt, one of the reason SMM came up with this huge 30k tournament is to shift the Dota scene from ver 5 to ver 6 and that is a success. I can't see any reason people will get piss over these changes. Good job on being the first mover.

I'm having an event using -xl mode too although haven't post any details yet but my local teams already knew.

Wow with this mode implemented it will be very interesting..

Unfortunately, Zenith and Micronology pulled out at the last minute due to some of their members not being able to travel the distance. Would have been cool to have some Malaysian VS Singaporean games. However, we will still be having some interesting games coming up so hell yeah. I haven't heard about Blitzone yet. Brackets will be out around Wednesday or Thursday once I finished up some last minute registrations.

I haven't heard anything about Zenith pulling out. As far as I know, schedules were being cleared, hotels were already booked, and arrangements were made. May I know the source of information about Zenith pulling out?
