it will be interesting to see how much teams like RoA , MKVL, SK benefited from joining MYM tourney and playing with

those teams from different parts of the world, whether they improvement have bring our malaysia teamplay

standard on par with the top singapore teams, flex.gif

in my opinion, i feel teams like RoA and MKVL really benefitted from the healthy amount of competitive games they

gotten from joining in MYM tours, that why their performance have been so "sharp" and cohesive during the Sino

tournament , these 2 teams really make good effort to keep their gameplay in top shape, while others have slacked ,

and complain of lag problem of MYM tourney, these 2 teams are rewarded for actively participating in MYM

tourney. thumbup.gif

IMPORTANT!

As obligation to Sendi Mutiara Multimedia due to sponsorships and stuff, we will be changing certain rules for this tournament. I am very sorry for the late notice but we have only had a meeting several hours ago and came to this conclusion. These set of rules, I believe, will be implemented for SMM Selangor qualifiers onwards (might be further clarified by Lim or underminer). Seedings and brackets will be done by underminer and will be out at a later date. I will also call up teams to confirm the change of rules. If you know any teams that will be joining, please do inform them of the change of rules. Thanks a lot for your help in this matter.

P.S. Registration is still open but will close soon. Do register ASAP in order to not miss the chance to pit yourself against the likes of the very best in the Malaysian DotA gaming scene.

Changes from the former rules are :

1. BristleBack (BB) is allowed to be drafted again.
2. Added a "take out hero" draft before the drafting sessions. It will be conducted using the 1-1-1-1-1-1 format.
3. The drafting will be changed to the 1-2-2-2-2-1 format.
4. All drafting are done before the game starts. -AP will be typed in game.

The rules are almost the same as MYM but differs at slight points. This includes rules for backdooring and sharing of control.

Rules

Game Version: v6.43b

. Competition Method: 5 vs. 5
. Tournament Structure: Single Elimination
. Match Length: Until a winner is decided
. Match Winner: The player who completely destroys the opponent's Ancient or if the opponent surrenders.

* Coin Toss
The match will begin with a coin toss and winner of the coin toss will get to choose:
(a) Sentinel/Scourge side of the map or
(b) the first hero selection from drafting

* Game Mode: Extended League Mode. (-Ap mode will be typed in-game)

1. Both teams will be allowed to take out up to 3 heroes from the pool of heroes before drafting starts. This will work based on a 1-1-1-1-1-1 format. Teams can choose to stop taking out heroes before the maximum 3 heroes limit and their turn to take out the heroes will be void.

1. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
2. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
3. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
4. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
5. Team one will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero
6. Team two will take out / skip the chance : 1 hero

A maximum of (but may not up to) 6 heroes can be taken out before the drafting session happens. After the taking out draft finishes , teams will proceed to pick the heroes for the game.

2. Picking heroes: 1-2-2-2-2-1

1. Team one will pick: 1 hero
2. Team two will pick: 2 heroes
3. Team one will pick: 2 heroes
4. Team two will pick: 2 heroes
5. Team one will pick: 2 heroes
6. Team two will pick: 1 hero

* Game Play

1. Sharing: The sharing of wards, consumables, and gems is allowed. The following items are the only allowable items which may not be sold if transferred:
a) Sentry Wards b) Observer Wards c) Lesser Clarity Potion d) Ancient Tango of Essifation e) Flask of Sapphire Water
f) Gem of True Sight g) Scroll of Town Portal h) Aegis of the Immortal i)Cheese

2. Item Limitations :

. Each team may only have two Mekansm
. Each team may only have two Necronomicon
. Each team may only have one Refresher Orb
. Each team may only have one Arcane Ring
. Each team may only have in total either :
(a) Two Eul's Scepter of Divinity OR
(b) two Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse OR
(C) one Eul's Scepter of Divinity and one Guinsoo's Scythe of Vyse

3. Backdooring in games is allowed.

* Abuses & Exploitation:

1. Trees Trapping (Disqualification): Trapping enemies in trees intentionally is not allowed.

2. Pooling (Warning or Game Loss): No pooling of any sort is allowed. This means that items bought with a player's own money cannot at any time be carried by any of his teammates. Items bought with the player's own money can only be carried or sold by him. This rule only applies to players on the same team. Players can pick up items dropped by their opponents. Sharing of allowable items are allowed to be transferred but not sold.

3. Pause Abuse (Warning or Game Loss): During hero selection. From the point after hero selection process is completed, pausing without any valid reason is disallowed.

4. Creep Blocking (Disqualification): Creep blocking is not allowed but creep slowing is allowed. Blocking here refers to the prolonged blocking of creeps to disrupt their usual path. (ie: Using Chen's creeps to block the entire entrance of the base for a long time.)

5. Bugs Exploitation (Warning , Game Loss or Disqualification): No Exploitation of any known old or new bug discovered during play. Explanations like "exploiting/activating the bug unknowingly", "we had no idea this bug existed" or similar excuses will not be entertained. Participants/Teams are expected to know what these are.

Examples of Bugs:

Earthshaker using Fissure to target out of the edge of the map. Results in a fatal error in some instances. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.

Black King Bar cannot be shifted or dropped. Any players found doing this will be disqualified.

6. No control sharing (Disqualification): Strictly no control sharing. Only when there is one more or team mates disconnects, then you can share the control of that player(s)' hero. However, you cannot take, pass or sell that hero's item(s).

* Penalties Awarded:

Warning : After warning is given games goes on. If three warnings are accumulated then the team will be ejected from the tournament upon receiving the third warning.

Game Loss: Game loss given to a team mean the team loses the current game no matter what is the result of that game. A win would be awarded to opponent instead.

Disqualifications: A team disqualified will be ejected from the tournament. They will not be able to continue further in the current event.

Nice stuff, already expected that SMM will change the rules into -xl, its more fair in that way and it also promote more competitive play by getting more creative drafts. Maybe we wont be seeing so much of QOP, SK, Spectre, Warlock anymore. Wise decision. At least other country ppl wont say that Malaysia dota is outdated and Malaysian player has no adaptability over the game. =)

Changes are definite, from version 5 to version 6, from team pick to all pick. Its something that all of us must adapt, one of the reason SMM came up with this huge 30k tournament is to shift the Dota scene from ver 5 to ver 6 and that is a success. I can't see any reason people will get piss over these changes. Good job on being the first mover.

I'm having an event using -xl mode too although haven't post any details yet but my local teams already knew.

Next time I make Extra extended league, Remove Opponent player and game hero. h0h0h0
