Seedings for DotA Tournament 2007 Resurgence Series
1st: Zenith
They won everything that is there to win in the Singapore Dota scene (except that elusive ACG title). They dominated the scene last year with their flamboyant playing style. Their replays showed the world that there is more to Dota than pure farming that has been popularized by those boring CAL replays. Their play style inspired the "Asian Style" which SK applied to dominate the Malaysian Scene last year.
Their presence at the Zionnet Dota Tournament last year took the scene to a whole new level of competitiveness. Lets hope we can see more of their great plays this time.
2nd: Cybertime-1
This team has been consistently winning tournaments around the scene. Their second foray into the MYM Pride tournament series saw them beating SK.Dota and lots of international teams before losing an interesting Quarterfinal match against MYM Dota. From the outset they are the most prepared team for the -XL mode with their game play not seeing any loss of intensity despite the new rule changes.
Their recent achievements include becoming the Malaysian Dota Representative to ACG 2007 after a breathtaking qualifiers which saw them beating the unofficial top team from Penang, a resurgent Autosurf.Dop and their sister clan in the finals.
3rd-4th : mKvL and DNA
While Cybertime 1 is stealing all the lime light , mKvL has been steadily improving their game capping it all with a solid second placed finish at the recent concluded Sinonet Dota Tournament. Being only 1 of the 2 teams that beaten Cybertime-1 on LAN this year , they are a formidable team that will threaten Cybertime-1's domination of the local scene.
DNA is a reformed team of former Wizz and SK's top players. All 5 team members are undoubtedly highly experienced and gifted in their skills. But their recent to losses to IMAX showed that they have not gel into a strong team yet. I will not underestimate them though. With a lineup that is the envy of most teams , they are capable of sweeping any team before them if they can get their team polished.
5th-8th : NSP-Alpha , w4si , dMw , Cybertime-G
NSP-Alpha is Sabah's top clan. Their presence in this tournament is highly anticipated. The only indication of their skills is through online tournaments such as the SMMDOTA online tournament and the recent MYM Pride 6 tournaments. Their different approach to the game that demands lots of focus and coordination caught a lot of teams by surprise. Having played Say_Plz lately in a game that sP claimed "interesting" they certainly gained lots of experience in terms of higher level game play. It will be interesting to see how far they can go in this tournament.
If there is an award for rookie team of the year, w4si will be the certain favorite to win it based on their performance to date. With their highly adaptive game play, they have managed to beat bigger names of the scene this year. Among them are SK , Auto.Dop and mKvL. Lets see what kind of miracles can they conjure up this time.
dMw consists of former Enet players who are trying to reclaim former glory. Their comeback tournament at the Sino Dota Tournament recently saw them getting into the quarterfinals. Impressive indeed for a new team's first outing.
Cybertime-G got their first taste of fame by clinching the Cybertime sponsorship and obtaining second placing in the SMM KL Qualifiers. They got the basics needed to perform well but lack big game experiences. However, their complete domination of all their games enroute to the final of SMM KL proves that they are capable of beating all mid tier clans. We shall see how far can this new team go this time around.
On a side note , the top 4 Johor teams by reputation , Speed , Webster , Kingsurf and MBJB has been separated to ensure the possibility of an all Johor Semi-final. Each of them will begin to face seeded teams at the last 16 stage onwards.
Due to time constraints, the seedings will not take into account teams that registered this week. Sorry for that.
DNA has changed their team name to SK-DNA and Bz-CLLMGZ has changed their team name to SK-Bz. They are from the same sponsors and hence separated. Previously, SK-Bz is at Galaxy IT but has been changed to Glow CC. Please attend to the correct place. Thanks.
Kingsurf has changed name to Kingsurf-1 and Webster to Kingsurf. These changes have been done as early as 10 minutes ago and hence I have no way to change the brackets.
