Hi,

I am currently having issues with my PS 4 which has been acting weird. I am using the PS 4 Original model (not sure which year)

The current problems I am having as per listed below :

1. I noticed that the cooling fan sound are very loud.

2. At some point the ps 4 will overheat and the warning will pop up on the screen.

3. The sound when ejecting the CD will randomly go on (Even when the ps is on sleep mode).

3. I am suspecting that the ps is very dusty inside.

Need some advice from this forum sifus before i make any decision on what to do.

Thank you! smile.gif have a good day ahead.

Like you, I think is it dusty inside, thus heat transfer is not efficient. Need to open up and do some cleaning just like PC

Could be extremely dusty or a fan failure.
Either way, it wouldn’t hurt to open the system and clean it.

Ifixit has a guide as with many online sites.

Also, keep the PS4 in a well ventilated area.

consider installing an external fan too, usually can get below RM 50

External fan doesn’t help.
A lot of youtube reviewers did check this with a thermal cam.

At best, just 1-2C.
It’s also extremely noisy.

Same as PC, you have to service the machine occasionally. this is not ps1/ps2 era anymore, this happen already started since ps3 and we just dont know how to take care of it.
