Hi all

I'm looking for a rugged watch

I wanted a G shock or a Seiko digi Tuna initially

but G shocks are too common and tuna are kinda rare / pricey

and then I stumbled upon Luminox

the Recon to be exact 8822KM

it's RM965 and it's pretty neat

the thing is are they as durable as G shocks ? any feedback on these babies ?

on a sidenote any good places to get Nato straps?

Read over some forums and the feedback on Luminox wasn’t that great. I had the same dilemma before and I chose Gshock over Lumi, so far the feedback on Gshock is 10/10. No complaint so far.

Thanks for the feedback !

i thought of getting a Luminox over a G shock cause it's a little more unique , I mean now many people uses a Lumninox right .

But the QC isn't as good as the legendary G ... unfortunately

Guess I'll stick with G shock this time

Been wearing it since 2014. So far the watch works perfectly and i just get another new Lumi few days ago. Luminox and G shock is like suv vs pickup. Both can offroad but definitely pickup works better.

I have both luminox and gshock. Both also good.
If you want something special, can consider this:

https://marathonwatch.com/collections/watch

But I never try before. Heard the review is good though

It's a solid no frill watch, with case made for 316 stainless steel, ETA movement, etc.
The earlier version are only with Superluminova markers/hands, unlike the latest version with tritium vials

hi.

Luminox is a durable watch but cannot match the G-Shock. G-shock was built on different platform. It has inner metal case and rubber case inside the main outer case make it tough as hell. Shock resist. Most G-Shock also use the big size springbars add the toughness of G-Shock.

While Luminox has a sapphire crystal that scratch proof and a pretty tough case.

Durability my vote on G-Shock. Ruggedness and Swiss Made you should go with Luminox.
