Hi. I am a PC parts dealer, although my focus is on gaming chairs, graphics cards and mechanical keyboards.

The latest update from distributors I check with is that:

Distro A - should be no increase
Distro B - should be no increase, if increase also maybe around RM30-50 for laptops (not sure why)

BUT both distros say government haven't finalize SST terms yet, so cannot confidently say it won't affect. Under old pre-GST system of SST, it did not affect PC parts and hardware.

Edit: side note, now tax holiday until 31st August. If it's moderately urgent, then buy now. Using a bit of logic I am sure you will understand that with SST coming in, no such thing as price decrease. It is either price increase or no changes (unless some supply and demand factor overseas - like what happened with the mining rush).

U dont need to ask. All business and all sellers will simply take opportunity to increase price at everything. Be it food, hardwares, clothes, etc

which to choose? intel or amd?

intel looks like need to buy a new mobo for 8 core processor
while AMD say will support future processor in the current gen mobo. but AMD is inferior in term of gaming
