BN and PAS have no solid proof the secretary didn't receive the letter 14 days ago the secretary said she received it. Also, BN and PAS have no problem with the speaker and took the oath in front of him anyway.
So they have both no reason nor purpose to delay the appointment of the speaker. The walkout only lasted for one hour and they spend that time eating and lounging at the taxpayers expense. Really sad to see these kind of MP. This post has been edited by ReoAyanami: Jul 17 2018, 01:36 PM |

if you serach the video from the parliament, the secretary of parliament (the lady) already mentioned that she received the nomination on the 2nd of July. At this point, the un-educated MP keep shouting Point of Order. The lady mention to the MP, please hear what she was telling to all. But the un-educated MP keep shouting Point of Order... after that, the PM announce the Speaker and the all the un-educated MP starting to left the Parliament hall...
From this incident, it shows the new opposition is making an issue from nothing... As expected, Pas thru Harakah try to make they are the champion and Umno keep telling they get the information from Parliament staff (is the staff knows everything compared to Secretary of Parliament). Only in Malaysia can we see this kind of attitude.... hahaha |

Right now they're pretty much claiming the protocol wasn't observed because they heard rumours that the first choice for Speaker was someone else. Even Rais Yatim was speculated to be the Speaker. Speculations. I wonder if PAS really does have proof that it was a last minute change.

QUOTE(asphiroth @ Jul 17 2018, 02:04 PM) if u guys listened to PAS MP press conference yesterday, he explained how PH had meeting, discussed and reported to media on who gonna be the speaker, and media all reported past 2nd july Had too much weed, so now concocted this story in my head. PH didn't have a proper candidate that met their manifesto by the 2nd July deadline. They were still trying to find an MP willing to letgo of his post and the resulting by-election won't harm PH.But they did name a backup speaker on 2nd July, to makes sure parliament can still start at 16th July. In the meantime they keep finding candidates that which lead to all those media reports. If they could have confirmed Johari Abdul as speaker, most likely they'll ask Parliament to be delayed. But alas, they'll just go with already nominated speaker since no MP wanted to be speaker. |
