thanks for the help bro !  rclxms.gif
Do you think something like Asus RT-AC68U or TP-Link C3150 v2 would be good enough for the main router ?  sweat.gif
And the other APs are actually also routers right ?
thanks for the app  recommendation ! drool.gif

since i find you hesitate on which router to choose let me explain a bit on how to spot a good wifi router and avoid marketing gimmick
there r few terms u will nid 2 understand 1st b4 choosing ur wifi ap or wifi router

- wireless mesh is a term where used 2 describe network equipment connect with each other wirelessly, normally tru 5Ghz band without the hassle of cables connection
for home senario wifi ap to really take advantage of tis wireless mesh u will need to buy tri band wifi ap (2.4Ghz + 5Ghz band 1 + 5Ghz band 2)
where the extra 5Ghz band is used to connect and auto manage to another wifi ap so that you don't need to connect extra LAN cable to the other wifi ap just power it up is sufficient

- seamless roaming is basically talking abt the wifi ap cache and do assisted roaming between 2 wifi ap
when u walk from wifi ap 1 to wifi ap 2, the system will ask your phone hello are you near wifi ap 2, if your phone reply yes
the system will auto cache your data and transfer you to wifi ap 2, data resume in wifi ap 2
with minimal packet drop, so if you are making voip calls, play games or live streaming you won't feel the disconnection
the lag is in milliseconds so normally you won't notice it

- smart wifi a term used by home consumer brand where assisted roaming perform without the cache, where the wifi ap kick you off whn it detect your signal is not strong
& it is up to your device to connect to the strongest signal, so if you are having calls games streaming, you will definitely notice the disconnection

- su-mimo 5ghz & mu-mimo 5ghz, su or mu is basically talking abt single user at a time, multiple users at a time
the capabilities of wifi ap, however your device especially phone must support mu-mimo in the first place
now here the catch of mu-mimo; consumers brand marketing gimmick, home wifi ap mu-mimo able to support up to 4 devices at the same time
to allow that you will need 4x4 5ghz antenna design, and most 4x4 design only support up to 3 device
3x3 design support 2 device, where 2x2 do not support any to really take advantage of mu-mimo you will need supports 4x4 or more antenna and at lease 3 devices

now let's look into the recommended router of your choice

vsAsus RT-AC68UTP-Link C3150 v2
wifi techsu-mimomu-mimo
mesh capabilityyes LAN onlyno / 3rd party firmware for LAN only
seamless roamingyesno
wifi marketed speed 5ghz1900Mbps2167Mbps

from my own review, note 1 MBps = 8mbps, unifi 100 mbps will get you 12.5 MBps of download speed

* if you intended to connect hard drive, TP-Link C3150 v2 perform at much better rate about 30 MBps better than Asus RT-AC68U
* 5ghz wifi performance of TP link is about 35 mbps throughput better thn Asus, where it should be higher since it is advertise at higher another marketing gimmick
* mu-mimo is none existence in TP-Link C3150 v2, ever since the v1 version TP-link didn't care to fix it, marketing gimmick
* even tho Asus support seamless roaming, however it is asus proprietary not the 802.11k, 802.11r, 802.11v industry standard,
tested with iphone sony samsung asus huawei nokia windows phone different brand of laptops, only iphone sony and laptops works
where samsung s9+ huawei p20 pro still struggle with it, even Asus phone are having problem with it, only their laptop works but it is the sole credit of windows OS not Asus
well can't totally blame Asus anyway if we were to put industry standard 802.11k, 802.11r, 802.11v samsung huawei asus phone do not support it at all, but still a marketing gimmick
* another marketing gimmick from Asus RT-AC68U is lack of shielding from USB 3.0 interface where it can interfere with 5ghz signal, but they do have a option to reduce the interference
so if you want fast USB 3.0 then you get slow 5ghz wifi vice versa

so how to choose a router, well i can't tell you 2 basically go open box test it all before purchase
but read review site before buying some of them do have professional reviews where you can do a comparison
be skeptical on the big big marketing claims
and lastly do google see if you can find a lot of people complain problems like wifi disconnection problems, very common in particular few TP-link model

and last why would i choose Asus RT-AC68U over TP-Link C3150 v2
is due to the easy to configure wifi mesh capability buy two interconnect LAN to both router
a few click poof you have 5Ghz full coverage easily

i will choose TP-Link C3150 v2 over Asus due to
i do not care about the range and it is just a temporary solution
