Since they are already required to take BM SPM , why not take other subjects as well ?
Language used shouldn't be an issue because English / Malay is used at public unis, which is ultimately what this "recognition" aims to achieve right ?

** Of course you could say they might need UEC recognised to get job in the public sector, but seriously ? How many UEC holders aspire to work for the government?

Some UEC students take both UEC and SPM. If you can pass UEC, SPM is a easy.

Question is, can these UEC holders converse well in Bahasa? Taking an exam is one thing, their communication and interaction among peers in Bahasa should be taken into consideration.

UEC is form 6 level though, not form 5 level so....

plus i think they generally go for UEC because no money go pre-U course and dont want stpm because they know their skin colour usually get chosen to study shit courses.

so they go uec

Spend time of at keast 1 year if not more to study 8 extra subjects again?

For what fuckin reason?

Rather, should ask what basis the Govt has for not recognising UEC when its proven that the SJKC education quality fucks SMK like five blacks on Piper Perri

Yes you can. But there are some (not sure is many or some) that can’t. I know a handful that just can’t speak bahasa and they don’t feel ashamed of it at all

As a cainis, this is why I don’t really support this UEC

I think it is indisputable that Chinese independent school students are much worse than national schools students at Bahasa Malaysia. On the other hand, if the goal is unity surely recognizing UEC would give them an incentive to improve their BM, enroll in government universities and learn even more BM there.

As it stands currently, many UEC holders will likely never need BM. If the UEC is recognized, at least some portion of them will end up knowing more BM than they would otherwise.

Having 2 exams system don't make sense.

Perhaps government should evaluate both SPM/STPM and UEC, and adopt the best of the both to form new system ...
