Did you enable IPv6 by any chance? I had my IPv6 incorrectly setup and had the same issue as yours.

See this guide for IPv6 setup: https://klseet.com/5-tm-unifi/unifi-general/258-unifi-ipv6

Planning to get a router (perhaps AC-86U) during 12.12 but I need some funds.

How much can I expect to get by selling both my current AC1200 and DIR-842? Both are less than 2 months old.

If lucky can get RM200 (for both, not each)
Because both of those routers are worthless

I guess that's not too bad, better than nothing. biggrin.gif

Asus Tmall seems to be out of stock for AC-86U. What other sellers do you guys recommend?

you need to create a China address. Go visit this website and login with your facebook account.
https://www.mypostonline.com.my/index.php/M...ogin/login.html

go to warehouse address by select the left panel. then choose one of the addresses you like.

go back to taobao then login your account. in the taobao webpage, move your mouse cursor to your taobao username at above, click on account management.
then click on 收货地址 and insert your china address. Remember to set your China address as the default.

So now you can buy the router from tmall. Switch to China then click checkout, then choose your Malaysia address in the checkout page.

Always login to your taobao first before you proceed to search that router to buy from tmall.

Okay, that seems to work. Thanks!

any good deal for AC86U today? please share.

Just bought one from the link below for a total of 931 Yuan including direct shipping. For some reason, I couldn't get the 60 Yuan coupon since it said I didn't have enough points? But I did get some coupons for a total of 25 Yuan.

Awesome, good for you. Guess I should've tried harder.

What's your total cost including shipping?

Some updates after testing the AC86U last night for a couple of hours (comparing it to my Tenda AC18 with Merlin):

1) 2.4GHz signal is a little bit stronger
2) 5GHz signal is stronger
3) Web firmware interface is more responsive
4) Performance is about the same since only 6 devices are connected at the same time
5) Haven't tried any of the fancy features yet (WTFast etc.)

Overall, not bad. Are you guys using Merlin with your AC86U?

If you're the T-Mobile version, it is not officially supported.

You should check out this thread for guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/8...tmobile_router/

my router bought from taobao ..

so which firmware should i upgrade to ?

thanks

Got the link from Taobao?

You can just try this first: https://sourceforge.net/projects/asuswrt-me..._2.zip/download

If it doesn't work (which means you could have the T-Mobile version), you need to follow the guide I linked from Reddit.

don't have the link anymore...bought a year ago ....
flashed merlin firmware after received the router till now ..
attached is the router ..

thanks ...

Seems like you have the T-Mobile version. If you've upgraded to Merlin before, I think you can just directly use the latest Merlin firmware without any conversion?

hi,,,

i had successfully flashed from merlin firmware from 380.66.4 to 384.8.2 without any conversion...
had been turbo-ed to 800 mbps
but speedstest still max ~ 300 mbps..

wonder why..,..
thanks,,,
*
What I think is that, perhaps your Taobao seller has already converted it for you. Anyway, that's good.

Not sure why you can't reach 800Mbps. According to this list, you should be able to get at least 500Mbps.

I'd check with a different PC or LAN cable to see if the router is the problematic one.
