My unit from China also failed about 5 months old only. Bought it during the Single's Day sale. One day I came home and discovered the router had no illuminated lights and couldnt power up anymore. Prior to that, 2 weeks before it went bust, my Lan 1 port was not functioning. Already sent it back to China for warranty claim to the seller and hopefully Asus China can replace it.
Buy from local store lah, even it is more expensive worth every ringgit you spent.This router very good for setting up vpn router, update the firmware with vpn provider's firmware, very secure.
You can have many devices...computer, laptop, smartphone, smart TVs..etc.... can use vpn.
