Thank you, really appreciate your effort.

Price shown is before using coupon right? If so, then it is very tempting.

Why? Just register a Taobao account and buy from there directly
Why need to create a group?

because not all part of the page can be google translated.

I've only managed to register an account. tried to checkout for testing purposes but it's still in chinese. (chrome says page is already translated ohmy.gif )

Dude, I'm Malay and I neither speak nor read Chinese
You just have to play some guessing here and there
*
I'd risk playing the guessing game if it's for RM50 item, but for RM500+ hmm.gif

If u make a group buy I'd be the first one to join..RM50 service charge for your effort?

Those who bought from official asus tmall, free gifts(fan) shipped together with router? Was told it's shipped separately, that's why my agent still have not shipped it out from china.

router position on top of shelf without anything blocking it.

so after 5 months, my AC86U just died on me.

Can't even turn on the router. No LED light up at all. Power supply unit is working fine as USB fan attached to the router can still run. Tried connecting via LAN but no response. Tried resetting using Reset button & other methods still wont work.

No choice but to RMA back to China.

anyway, have been using fans (blowing in) since day 1 with temperature never exceeding 60Celcius.

Strike by thunder? Try to power on it with different power adapter?
*
Nothing to do with thunder..was watching smart tv at noon (not raining, sunny weather) when suddenly wifi connection dropped. Checked the router & only LAN 4 LED lights up (very dim). All my devices are powered through Belkin surge protection by the way.

Swapped with original asus power supply unit still no improvement. Both power supply unit are working fine as fan connected to router USB port can still run.

RIP. cry.gif

This was the same symptom when i had my ac86u. The router just died. Only LAN 4 LED lighted dimly. LAN 4 was connected to Hypptv STB with 5E cable. Has it got anything to do with the STB?
*
Mine has nothing to do with STB..I have no device connected to the router at all through LAN, only the unifi modem.

My unit from China also failed about 5 months old only. Bought it during the Single's Day sale. One day I came home and discovered the router had no illuminated lights and couldnt power up anymore. Prior to that, 2 weeks before it went bust, my Lan 1 port was not functioning.  Already sent it back to China for warranty claim to the seller and hopefully Asus China can replace it.
*
Just got a quotation from Poslaju, RM70 to send the whole unit to China via Air Parcel, RM280+ if via EMS.

Which one did you choose? Also, poslaju customer service also mentioned China customs do not accept any parcel containing electronic..so no choice but to declare the modem as something else?

So Asus official taobao sent a replacement unit back to me. Now just waiting for it to arrive. Will sell it off since I already have a replacement router.

Some timeline for benefit of others.

11/11 bought router during sale. Flashed merlin, installed cooling fans since 1st day. Router positioned on high cabinet with very minimal dust area. (unlike a poster here who thinks everyone puts their router in a sawmill factory icon_rolleyes.gif)

13/4 router just died during daytime. No lightning whatsoever, it was a sunny day. No LAN connected except unifi modem.

contacted taobao agent in LYN who bought the router for me to contact Asus China.

23/4 sent router back to China using Poslaju Air Parcel (RM62 + RM15 insurance). Declared parcel as modem. Took 17 days to arrive, quite late since this is the cheapest postage.

10/5 router arrived at Asus China facility.

13/5 Asus China sent new replacement unit to taobao agent warehouse without further question. Problem statement already explained during first communication. Then have to fork out RM44 postage from warehouse to Malaysia.

So total spent for this RMA was RM121.
