Have you plug the router direct to your PC, then check the default gateway IP address?

should send to RMA because already press the reset pin but still not working.
*
yes press the Reset pin and still not Working ...

2 Asus AC86U working in tandem with each other, with fans. One normal connection and the other is VPN-one. Thank God for Taobao.  biggrin.gif

Btw I can get around 100Mbps with ExpressVPN on TIME300 connection. Not bad at all.

If you're the T-Mobile version, it is not officially supported.

You should check out this thread for guide: https://www.reddit.com/r/tmobile/comments/8...tmobile_router/

Got the link from Taobao?

You can just try this first: https://sourceforge.net/projects/asuswrt-me..._2.zip/download

If it doesn't work (which means you could have the T-Mobile version), you need to follow the guide I linked from Reddit.

don't have the link anymore...bought a year ago ....
flashed merlin firmware after received the router till now ..
attached is the router ..

thanks ...

Seems like you have the T-Mobile version. If you've upgraded to Merlin before, I think you can just directly use the latest Merlin firmware without any conversion?
*
last time i just direct flash the merlin firmware without any conversion ...

now the T mobile version need did conversion only can flash merlin firmware?

thanks ...

What I think is that, perhaps your Taobao seller has already converted it for you. Anyway, that's good.

Not sure why you can't reach 800Mbps. According to this list, you should be able to get at least 500Mbps.

I'd check with a different PC or LAN cable to see if the router is the problematic one.

i bought last year the t mobile router ...original the seller flash China firmware..cant setup unifi ..then i direct flashed to merlin firmware...

im using ugreen cat7 Lan cable ....onu to router also ugreen cat7 Lan cable ...

tried changed others cat5e lan cable still no help..max 300mbps..

tried change back stock router dlink 850l .. still no help ..max 300mbps..

i have only 1pc with 1Gbit network ...others pc max 100mbps network card...

thanks ..

u can try to monitor ur cpu usage maxed out when u do speedtest

looks to me that core2duo E8400 is bottlenecking during speedtest
*
CPU also concern for Internet speed ? never know about that ..
i always think Internet speed depend on network card ..chip ..

thanks ..

The thing is when ur download speed goes very high, there are more data being transfer , CPU needs to process them. Old CPU wont have enough processing power to process them same goes to HDD , ur HDD may not cope fast enough to write data to the drive9

IC..lesson learnt....thanks ...

adequate cooling is needed for this high end router for longevity.
hmm.gif seems like AC86u is prone to failure. Guess i'll skip the AC86u.

my initial was to get ac86u on upcoming sales. But i guess either ax88 or ac5300  brows.gif
*
ax88 or ac5300 less ppl use ..so less failure rate ....haha

Saw one AX88U died also. So basically == luck. Better get local unit if don't want China warranty hassle.

QUOTE(sHawTY @ May 12 2019, 11:59 AM)
I know that. My original point was that these failures are caused by manufacturing luck, some units even with adequate cooling still failed
It's manufacturing fault, some chips may have some defect which may cause these failures

that jaw dropping price tag has successful voided ppl from getting it laugh.gif
