using a case will be better. i am using moshi case on my macbook pro 2017. it makes it look brand new still even after two years of usage.

notice that if I place the keyboard protector on the keyboard, it can get stains quite easily, I think probably it is due the heat generated from the system that melts the material of the protector especially if put it on for prolong period of time.

Yesterday I placed it over my brand new keyboard that is replaced, less than hours can see stain on certain keys, luckily can be removed.

Now dare not to put it on again. Think I will just use it naked.

No need to worry anything. Keyboard is covered under their repair programme.

in terms of design. Totally no difference. They only added some silicon thingy to help to reduce the keyboard problem.

Professor wise quite significant difference. 13-inch comes with quad-core professor now.

yes. so 2018 13-inch can makes quite significant improvement if your application support multi-cores.

Which keyboard cover did you get? I think there are a few different types of material.

moshi. actually very good keyboard protector.

just that my macbook pro is always on (24x7). heat is generated over long period of time. if protector is on, stains will be created on the keyboard itself even it is covered.

use without protector, can start to see stains generated even faster. no choice. i need to put back my protector agian. hahaha. tongue.gif

actually with moshi protector, good thing is that the noise of the keyboard is actually significantly lower. the typing also feels better actually.

i use both moshi case and keyboard protector, they are all good.

Will the moshi case scratch the edge of the laptop when installing or removing? I read Amazon review ppl complaining the rubber feet come off easily. You have no issues so far?

it does not scratch. it is quite difficult to remove. i had not removed it 2 years ago since i first applied it until recently my battery swollen that needs replacement of the top cover + battery.
yes, the rubber feets indeed come out very easily.

now, i have the case removed since my MBP is at home 99.99% of time and it is placed on on table.
in fact, the battery swollen problem could be due to the fact the case was on all the time and i had the AC power connected to my MBP 24x7.

with this, i will only apply the case again when i need to bring my MBP out again. tongue.gif

the case is solid and nice. although the rubber feet is a bit on lower quality that come out easily.

seriously, i find it a bit no point to have two line-up. the base model of macbook pro is a lot more attractive even it is slightly more expensive than the air.
