Vo2max and specialized bangsar is retul also. Sue Teoh national triathlete upcoming Asian games just did her bike fit with Vo2max. Vo2max rm700 includes rider assessment, if only fitting on bike is cheaper

do you know such detail bike fitting available in penang?

Sorry, not sure.
Take note that retul is a measurement system, not a bike fitting method. The bike fitter and rider feedback will help determine the adjustments needed for the fit. People trust Vo2max because Patrick's background is in exercise physiology
*
alright, thx for the info~
seems like i have to go down to KL if i really need it. thx~

If beli aluminum road bike, I rasa no issues coz the frame itself is tough. Only thing I have tiada kepastian is, will the tire able to support the weight or not. If 700 x 25c, maybe need to pump max psi e.g 120psi (mine 90psi only coz my berat 90kg).

Alternative solution, is change the tire to 28c width. Ain't sure about this one, sebab never tried before. Maybe can ask sifoo around here if doable or not.

Here's a link to check what tire pressure to pump based on bike weight + rider weight --> https://oniony.com/cycling/calc/pressure/

Normally road bike tire 700 x 25c width.
*
Just a sharing, my weight is about 95kg
In my previous bike, with 30c specialized tire i need to pump until 88psi.
In my current bike, with 25c schwalbe tubeless tire i need to pump until 82psi.

Any Penangites here who has tried the cycling track along Lim Chong Eu highway? Just wanted to know if it's suitable for road bike since my colleague who ride MTB for fun slipped & crashed there. If a MTB can slip, I fear that it's in no condition for road bike.

Also, any beginner friendly bicycle shop in Penang? I used to ride MTB during schooling days & felt like riding road bike to work. Been to a few shops & the sales guy bombarded me with all the component specs even though I've told them I'm not interested in those long-distance / round-island weekend rides. sweat.gif
*
you are referring to the route from karpal singh until queensbay?
i have used RB ride there few times, no issue~ the only thing you need to aware is the tree branch, you go through it with high speed will likely to slip and crash~ usually after storm rain the tree branch is scattered everywhere~

which shop you visited before? maybe they are not clear with your objective of getting a rb.
if you just want to commute to work, an entry level if mtb or flat bar rb will serve the purpose well.

fair, mine is a lot more antiquated and has an analog dial instead of a digital one and that also I'm perplexed by how precise he or she is

I cannot empathise
*
mine is also analog type with the minor indicator for every 2 psi~
unless you are saying the analog type is very inaccurate, else i trust what it shows me.

Hmm... I guess we're talking about the lane. AFAIK, the cycling lane from Karpal Singh is shared with motorycle lane until The Light (in front of Tesco) & from there on, there's a dedicated lane for cycling / running all the way to Bayan Lepas free industrial zone.

I've visited Lim Cycle Outlet near Sunshine Square, newly opened Rodalink at SummerSkye & one more which I've forgotten its name. Guess I've to try them again.
*
yea~ its the lane i am talking about~ so far rb can ride there just be careful of the tree branch~

i see... maybe many people including myself initially just want to cycle nearby as exercise or commute to work but end up makin ride makin jauh~ haha~
i started cycling around my apartment, then gradually increase the distance from 10km to more than 60km~ perhaps shops think you are one of those type of people~

since you already visit some bike shop, i suggest you can do some homework based on your budget~ confirm you want rb or mtb then only visit the shop again.
some of my friends choose specialized allez & cannondale caad optimo as their first rb~

lim cycle outlet got organize night ride almost every Wednesday, you can join them once you got your own bike~

You know how hard it is to pump to precisely 82 and or 88 psi without letting air out?
*
of course i cant stop the air from getting out every time detach the pump from the wheel. So what i do is i detach and re-attach again the pump to see how much air pressure left. Then the next time i pump i add in some buffer and re-peat the same step again to check the buffer that i estimated is sufficient or not. Do this few more times eventually you can get what ever pressure you desired.

Hi there... need some guide on bike meter.

ive been familiar with Cateye- simple and does the job reliably

what are the options now?
seems Bryton is more popular? with cadence and power meter?

i dont think need power meter for now- is cadence important?
*
I use Bryton newer model 410 for about a year now. So far no problem.
I also use Bryton heart rate sensor, sometimes will trigger maximum hear rate although just ride 15kmph.
For Bryton cadence sensor, just 6 months already rosak~
Earlier Bryton app has connectivity problem, new app launched early this year is more stable.

Few of my friends previously also use Bryton but recently change to Xplova because can record video~

Hi riders~
i am thinking to try oval chainring like the rotor q-ring or doval~
the reason being is when i read through some user experience, it helps to reduce muscle cramp and i am easily cramp type of person~ So far i only see one user mention this benefits. Other than that, the most common advantage is improving pedaling at dead spot. The disadvantage could be the shifting quality might not be as good as round chainring.

So anyone of you are oval chainring user? can share abit on your experience and would you recommend it?

I thought it’s pretty much a myth. Saw few guys using it but I don’t think it’s making any difference in their riding style except the feel good feeling. Anyway, I’m still running 10 speed non-electronic groupset so, I guess I’m still old school
*
Thx for your opinion~
just like the ceramic BB, some say improve some say no difference. biggrin.gif
im also using mechanical groupset, 10spd or 11spd i think does not matter much as long as you are comfortable with it.

Just curious.  hmm.gif
When do you experience these cramps? During cycling? Or after taking a short break?
After cycling for how many kms?
Which part of your body does these cramps happen? Calf?
*
My current cycling distance is about 75km with 3 climbs along the way.
From my strava, 1st climb is 2.5km long at average 5%, then downhill go flat for 17km before 2nd climb about 5km average at 4%. then another downhill & flat section of 16km before last climb 2.6km at average 4%.
Cramp mostly happen at both thigh~ usually it occurs during 3rd climb or otw to 3rd climb.
Stamina wise i feel like i can push it but my thigh says no.
im heavy guy with 95kg weight, maybe 3 climbs in a route is too much for me. cry.gif
