guys,
thinking of buying bike for my wife. thinking of specialized. The issue is I worry how long my wife will ride. So, it is better to buy something that I can use if my wife doesn't.
I am 180cm and using size 54 with 110mm stem. My wife is 170cm height.
So I am thinking of this setup:
1. size 54 with shorter stem, 70mm. If she dosn't ride, I can just change the stem to 110mm and I will be comfort on it as per my current bike sizing.
2. size 52. this will be her idea size but just in case she doesn't ride long, I just change the stem to 130-140mm.
Is the above make sense?
I dont know how long my wife will ride. That's a big question. buying low end bike will be many negative factor on her. Bike berat la, etc. So buying middle end bike like 5-6k would be a better start for her but I am just thinking if she stops riding after a while.
Thanks,
Just asking... is your wife used to road bike position?thinking of buying bike for my wife. thinking of specialized. The issue is I worry how long my wife will ride. So, it is better to buy something that I can use if my wife doesn't.

I was thinking maybe getting a mtb, so you have one when you want to go off road. Or maybe a foldie(mini velo?) and you can always have a bike where ever you go... just some ideas.
