An advertising agency emailed me to enquire about the licensing/purchase of a particular landscape photo that i posted on 500px, I'm not selling photos by the way, just doing it for hobby.

But the photo is not available for purchase as i set it that way. So is it advisable to directly sell it to the company based on a certain price i set? and how do i set a price for it? How do i go about it?

Ask them what's the purpose of the photo.

For stock photo sites, even to buy it 1 off (means total ownership) the price can be set quite high.

yup I did look around and it's quite high, but I do need to come up with an agreement for the rights to use the photo. Which I'm not sure how to do it.

depends on the usage, can be web or maybe even billboard, but if u charge him 100 bucks for a 10k billboard ad, then i will whack your head hahaha
