Sifus around,
My uncle borrowed my Canon PowerShot A400 for a trip and he been asking for my recommendation for a digital camera. As I have no idea, I greatly appreciate any recommendations from sifus here.
I think he would like to take family pictures & scenery mainly. Size is not an issue.
Thanks.

QUOTE(ashburn98 @ May 23 2007, 11:49 PM) I think he would like to take family pictures & scenery mainly. Size is not an issue. For family and scenery pics, go for wide angle lens camera. 28mm or less (35mm equivalent). Since size is not an issue, maybe can consider DSLR, if budget permits. Thanks. i assume he asked for your recommendation because he liked your canon powershot A400? then u should recommend him something along the lines like A460 or A550. if he just wants a simple camera both these cameras will do. unless he's really interested then it will be another matter. He did give his feedback on my Canon A400. He said the LCD screen is too small. I did mention DSLR to him but he said no need to go that professional. DSLR is above rm400 budget, yes?
If we narrow it down to Point and Click camera type, bigger LCD screen and ~rm400, what is the models I should check the reviews on?

u wont get monster 3inch screen with that budget. for around RM 400 u are basically limited to your choices add maybe an extra 100-200 then u might consider other choices i really recommend canon a550. great camera with great pics and video mode. might stretch ur budget to rm 550...but worth it it has a 2 inch screen. or if really limited to that price, get the A460 which is around rm499. it has 5mp and also a 2inch screen hope that helps!

I suggest Canon A710IS or Canon A640 then Ops, I see the budget.... Erm... Maybe A540? This post has been edited by Joshua_0718: May 24 2007, 03:48 PM

if possible, try to raise your budget by a few hundred.
