Amazing stuff. I like the portfolio of the last one. Kinda quirky and fun. Are those the direction you're going for with your drawings?

Super good artist around the world sure got a lot of malaysian, but not many actually working in malaysia (base on my own observation) maybe a few. If you purchase or watch imaginefx magazine you'll find a lot more artist working for big companies. I know a bunch of them working closest in SG.

Malaysia here I only know two company got pro artist, if anyone know anyone else please list here so I can reduce my ignorance and wrong perception that malaysia is a dry land for artist.

There are a number of low key Freelance Artists who prefer working directly with individual clients, example:
www.artstation.com/eddy-shinjuku
www.deviantart.com/eddy-shinjuku

But tbh most of them are earning from overseas, and live in Malaysia because some jobs doesn't require to be in-house the studio, even some of the strict NDA works you can still work from home depending on the project and your prior reputation.

Btw I met Jarold, Johnson, and the rest of the Milky Overdrive artists @ Comic Fiesta 17, friendly and supportive folks that will give you great pointers in the digital arts business.

I hear from a couple of art colleges that while TOA produces students who can draw amazing art, they effectivly train them to copy and trace like a photostat machine. Got this from FCUC so I'm not so sure how true is this rumour.

But definitely should support local artist. Only problem is the design indusrty in Malaysia is pretty small since we don't make a lot of games, movies, tv series and so on so most designers just end up designing simple stuff like logos and portraits

Our country always has a lot of amazing artists.

It's just that a majority can't get a chance to grow because local market is small and immature(in terms of expected pay). Of course, you can just go international, but you'll be competing with milions of people who have better experience, better learning facilities, better guidance and little to no restriction(the most surefire way to make someone pay you is to do NSFW commissions).

It is. One such artist was arrested for drawing porn in 2016.

But that guy was stupid for revealing his own personal info on his webpage. Perhaps a troll or someone with a grudge snitched him out.
