Hi All,
I wanted to hide some area in my house and I was thinking of flush sliding door system as shown in this video.

I've asked Hafele Malaysia but they haven't responded yet. I did talk with my local carpenter, they have no idea what I'm talking about. I was wondering anybody did this before here? how much does it cost? If you guys can share your contacts that will be great. It doesn't have to be Hafele, any brand-less system or china made is also fine.

p/s: I'm based in Penang by the way, so prefer nearby contractors.

Hafele have such system but different design.

In hafele it is for wardrobe door.

Try to get their thick catalog book to search or online.

Yes you're right. Hafele have responded to my inquiries that they have similar system over here called Finetta flat front.

Ikea has something similar. It is know as Hasvik pair of sliding door.

HASVIK pair of sliding doors

Just not sure if the size can fit into your space and if you can do the creativity of "Ikea Hack"  smile.gif

I think this looks like conventional sliding doors? I'm looking for the flush sliding door to give the impression of false walls.

Just to share, this is the space where I plan to add the flush sliding doors. (ignore the current wardrobe, plan to replace it built in wardrobe)
My plan is to have the sliding door flush with the walls so it looks like a false walls instead of a wardrobe.

Julie from Hafele Malaysia have been very helpful on replying my inquires, will share more if I have more updates.

wall to wall AND to ceilign wardrobe looks much better. Your current type will end up looking messy.

I might look into these flush system as well for a door, cause I need hide it

Is the drop above the suitcases a plaster ceiling hiding a beam, a beam or a plaster ceiling with too much a drop? The reason will be made clear if space above is a plaster ceiling which can be reclaimed to the point that whatever above that is not obstructed.

What will you replace the wardrobe internals with. Ikea Algot is quite flexible here.

One brand in Italy that seems to be very catchy is Caccaro's wardrobe systems especially the Camerino DB range here which are engineered up to 290cm in height. Their premise is a wardrobe are modular storage blocks that can be arranged flexibly to fit the room. It allows the owner to take advantage of the space in the room extending the wardrobe out etc or for the same volume, arrange it according to the room layout. But of course some things not use here e.g. shoe storage. You may not need to emulate their system entirely but the principle that can be adapted is if the room is large enough, can a bigger wardrobe be placed here say for the spouse etc.
Can be done but easiest is bi-fold which can be airtight. They should have glass panels instead of cheap acrylic.

yes, there is a beam there. Internal originally I wanted to custom made but the depth is quite odd for the carpenter. The Camerino range looks neat, I like the U-shape wardrobe, I might show this to my carpenter and see if he can built this. Plus I think folding door will be much easier to install for him compare to flush sliding door. thanks for the sharing!

Hi , I am looking for this as well . Can I know how much u get from Hafele ? Good to use ? They install for u or u buy back and DIY ? Or u get others similar ? TQ

Hafele does not provide installation but if you’re in klang valley they can recommend you some installer. As for me, I’m still surveying around. 1 carpenter quoted me about RM14k for the wardrobe with the flush system. A bit steep for me as they quote for normal sliding door wardrobe was only RM7k. So it’s about 100% premium just for aesthetic purpose. I was hoping it would just cost me 30-40% but for 100% I need to think really2 hard to commit 😅😅

Wow this is very cheap. Sadly I can’t read Chinese, I’ll need to get my friends to translate this for me. Thanks!
