QUOTE(cfkoon @ Sep 12 2018, 05:58 PM) For those who say they want to RE on a 2k-3k monthly income, may I ask what can you do with your life? In order to live within those means, you will have to live thriftily - you definitely wont be able to enjoy your retirement as you have planned. You will be so conscious with your expenditure that the rest of your retirement life will be drab and boring - then you will realise that actually being in retirement is not that fun. With a fully paid up property 3k can live very comfortably la. If no kids and wife |

QUOTE(Garysydney @ Sep 14 2018, 05:24 PM) Actually, humans are always greedy. When you have 1 mil, you think having 2 mil is better. When you have 2 mil, you think 3 mil is better. We are never satisfied with what we have. That is why a lot of rich people think they need more because they don't think they have enough (even though they are very rich in the eyes of their friends/relatives). Agree.... Its all relative I suppose. 5 years ago I'd be very happy to be where I am today. But today my goals are so much bigger and so far away My wife keeps telling me that we have quite a significant amount but somehow, that 'greed' is always around and keeps popping up saying 'You don't have enough!!' |

QUOTE(Showtime747 @ Sep 22 2018, 09:34 AM) Lately, I see a few young people comment about "digression". If the "digression" is presented like it was in /k, I would agree it should be moderated. Thanks for sharing your thoughts. But the "digression" are, by and large, relevant to the topic. From the comments, I notice the following : 1. Lack of patient - I think these young people lack patient to read opinion. They just want quick answer. "Noises" (in their opinion) is a waste of their precious time. When they do not get their answers, they feel agitated. They feel that when they research a topic, the topic must be well-presented to them, rid of "irrelevant" information 2. Lack of tolerance - I think these young people lack tolerance of differing opinion. When they read something "offensive" to them, they will take it personal 3. Narrow minded - I think these young people are too focus, and do not have a broader picture of their own life and that of the community/society as a whole. They see things from their narrow tunnel of vision, only from their own perspective 4. Easily instigated - when they see some words they don't like, they will easily get angry and feel the need to respond However, on the bright side, at least they voice out their grievance/dissatisfaction, instead of keeping quiet. This is a good thing Let's not forget a democratic society will only progress when opinions, big or small, good or bad, right or wrong are being presented freely and openly, not suppressed. The opinion will then be judged by all the readers as a whole. "Small", "bad" and "wrong" opinion will not get past a page of two and eventually be drowned in no time. "Big", "good" and "right" opinion will be further discussed. This is the natural process of how a topic come to a consensus. Let's celebrate our diversity, and learn to live happily with opinion you disagree. Remember, a few hundred years ago, Majority still think the world is flat. |

QUOTE(BooYa @ Jan 27 2019, 01:40 PM) I have a question, lets say someone with a strong active income (example rm100k nett monthly) do they look much into passive? or they would rather spend more time increasing their active to the next level? The right question should be.... how sustainable is this RM 100k monthly? Is it short term? Or tail end of career? Usually high salary earners can sustain around 5 years of high income. What is after? I know a guy earn a lot also during his time in Berjaya. Now end up spend all EPF also kosong liao because of poor financial decisions. So the person earning 100k monthly in my opinion should look into building passive income. |
