The Kaplan MT (Medium Tank) will always be a joint development between FNSS & Pindad. FNSS sales coverage is Africa whereas Pindad sales coverage is Asia & Asia Pacific.

Indeed. St initially collaborated with Timoney way back in 1980s....you can say we bought the design. But improved upon it. That was my point. Pindad sought Fnss assistance in designing this ifv/apc. Pindad needed expertise. FNSS was happy to share.

Nope. Like i said before the FNSS/Pindad Medium Tank its not based from any existing IFV/APC platform. It was designed from the drawing board as a Medium Tank and was not designed to carry any infantry troops. Hence the word "Infantry" from IFV and "Personnel" from APC. Whether you like it or not. Lol.

Ofcourse Indonesia is new with BMS but doesn't mean there is no BMS contrary to what you said that Indonesia have no network centric on their vehicle. The fact is there is. considering fnss bought over the xm8 design, any elements from that being brought over to kaplan?

Bangladesh more likely choose China over other competitors. Their newest MBT is MBT-2000 VT-1A (aka Al-Khalid MBT used by Pakistan) and their upgraded Type-69 II MBTs also using Chinese upgrade package kits.

Indonesia opted with the CMI 3105 instead of the XC-8 Turret. Pindad will licensed and produce the CMI 3105.

SAF: Infantry Rally 2018



To celebrate their 61st anniversary, the Infantry Formation held their Infantry Rally with a series of exhilarating events. The first event was the Infantry Shoot held at SAFTI 300m Range whereby the participants had hands-on experience of the various weapons through live-firings.

The shoot was followed by the Infantry March event that brought together men and women from various units within the Infantry tribe. Started at the Changi Beach where the Sook Ching Massacre occurred, the Infanteers marched back to Selarang Camp, Home of the Infantry. At Selarang Camp, the Infanteers transited to the gruelling Infantry Combat Physical Training. The series of events not only served to challenge the Infanteers physically but also fostered stronger bonds of friendship and camaraderie. The Infantry Rally culminated in a lighting of the Infantry Flame and a dining get-together among the Infanteers.
