It is last years news, what I'm finding out is if this proposal has gained any traction with the Admirals & MENHAN or have they dropped it?

Sabah PDRM to raise two more PGA Battalions to enhance security in the state
![]() PAPAR: The proposed establishment of two more General Operations Force (PGA) battalions in Kunak and Kudat will further strengthen security in Sabah. Sabah PGA Brigade Commander, Datuk Zanuddian Samsul Hadi, said that in Sabah there are five battalions in Kota Kinabalu, Lahad Datu, Beluran, Sandakan and Tawau. "We have five battalions and the government proposes to set up two more battalions that have been approved, namely the 21st Battalion in Kunak and another 22th Battalion in Kudat. "With the two extra battalions set up, we would be seven battalions. However, the setting up of the 21st Battalion in Kunak has yet to be known, but the posts and places already confirmed which is behind the Kunak Hospital, "he said when met by the media after attending the Sabah PGA Brigade Monthly Assembly at Padang Brigade Sabah, in Kinarut here, today. He said if the establishment of two battalions were made, brigades would be divided into two parts, the North Sabah Brigade and another South Sabah Brigade. "If the battalion was set up, the 14th Battalion in Tawau and 17th Battalion in Lahad Datu would be the South Sabah Brigade with a further 21th Battalion in Kunak. "Meanwhile 16th Battalion of Kota Kinabalu and 16th Battalion to be held in Kudat, and 20th Battalion at Beluran and 15th Battalion in Sandakan will be Brigade of North Sabah," he said. Zanuddian said it was a future plan to be implemented for security in Sabah. "I understand that it has long been in proposal but we wait for the authorities to approve of it later," he said. |

ESSCOM to beef up presence with more aircraft assets
![]() LAHAD DATU: The Eastern Sabah Security Command (ESSCom) through its air operations division will mobilize efforts to increase the security level in the Eastern Sabah Security Zone (ESSZone) with the empowerment of integrated air monitoring and control. ESSCom Air Operation Division chief of staff, Brigadier General Ayub Khan Mohamad, said this initiative will be implemented with the cooperation of the Malaysian Armed Forces aircrafts that are based in the Sabah east coast. It will involve the Royal Malaysian Navy and Royal Malaysian Air Force with the use of Fennec helicopter from KD Sri Semporna, Nuri helicopter from Tawau and Agusta helicopter from Skuadron 881 Pangkalan Udara Tentera Darat in Sandakan. Two others, a Hawk and B200T aircraft from 6 Skuadron and 16 Skuadron will be brought in from the Labuan air base. He said this is important for identifying any intrusion or entry of any parties that could threaten the peace and security in Sabah east coast, especially in the waters close to the Malaysian and Philippines border. “ESSCom’s drastic step also aims to combat all types of cross-border criminal elements that had always made ESSZone as the staging point to commit crime, such as kidnapping and smuggling,” he said. Ayub Khan said this after chairing the meeting on monitoring operation with the Malaysian Armed Forces Detachments at ESSCom Headquarters, yesterday. |

Four dead and 11 wounded as Indian Army artillery shells Pakistan-held Kashmir
![]() Hours after their violation of the Line of Control (LoC) with Pakistan, Indian troops on Tuesday evening resorted to indiscriminate shelling from across the dividing line, leaving at least four civilians dead and 11 others wounded in Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK), officials said. The machinegun, mortar and artillery shelling began at about 5:30pm simultaneously in Kotli, Bhimber and Poonch districts and was "intense and indiscriminate", with civilians being ruthlessly targeted by Indian forces without any provocation, officials added. The Kotli district was the worst hit area as all four of its sectors sharing the LoC came under heavy attack, according to deputy commissioner Dr Umer Azam. According to Dr Azam, one of the shells fell on a house in Mohra Dharoti village of Nakyal sector and as a result, a woman and her two children were killed and another three children wounded. He identified the deceased as Motiyan Begum, 55, Zarina, 20, and Gulfraz, 8, and the injured family members as Umar Farooq, 18, Sarfraz, 13, and Sagheer, 7. Elsewhere in the same sector, 15-year-old Umer Mushtaq, Abdul Rahman, 40, Shamim Akhtar, 41 were injured in Saloor Tarkundi village and Khaqan, 40, in Balakot village, the deputy commissioner added. In Khuiratta sector of the same district, Shehnaz Begum, 40, lost her life, while Adnan Aslam and his sister Sumera Aslam, and Munir Begum were injured in Khanpur Seri village. Shelling was also taking place in Tattapani and parts of Charhoi sectors, but no casualties were immediately reported from there, Azam said. "Since shelling is continuing intermittently, the casualties may go up … Once the guns fall silent we will be able to ascertain the exact details of losses," he said. |

Whatever really is happening, it seems that Pakistan is really cool about this incident compared to India.
PM Imran Khan tone very reconcilatory in his address, while PM Modi seems like throwing blood and thunder. Having a high-ranking pilot shot down and captured on virtually the first day of the conflict seems to have humiliated India. |

QUOTE(heavyduty @ Mar 1 2019, 12:49 AM) Imran Khan played india like a child. Now the Indians are turning on PM Modi( the same indian public who begged for more strikes against Pakistan in the kashmir region for the pask week) 21 Indian opposition parties have released a joint statement condemning PM Modi for politicizing the 40 dead paramilitary troops and the recent clashes to favor his BJP party.Pakistan, unsurprisingly, has released a statement saying this proves the real intentions of the Modi-led Indian government, to manufacture conflict with Pakistan in order to win at the polls. |

The Russian president, in turn, sent a letter to the official ceremony's participants and guests, where he said that "military and technical cooperation has traditionally been one of the key areas of special and privileged strategic partnership between Russia and India".
