I personally like a simple fan controller with at least 3 channels at the back of the casing at the PCI bracket. I wan to maintain my front bezel as classy, simple and clean. As far as I know, it's very hard to find those PCI slot fan controllers. Even I PM bombman and enquire bout his custom made PCI fan controller...a bit expensive though, but if i really cant find any, I guess i just have to send my PCI bracket to him...

Samples.

*
u can't control the fan speed like those fan controller knob, Lian Li's thermometer is a auto speed adjustment, just set ur desired target temp, like 30º Celcius --> the thermometer will set the fan speed automatically to achieve the targeted temp smile.gif

in other words, can't change the fan speed manually, it's rather automatically adjusted to achieve the targeted temp --> seems impractical to a OCing user or hardcore gamer

QUOTE(Case.Closed)
Remember that the unit automatically controls fan speed in relation to temperature, so when the probe is detecting a temperature just under the threshold you've set, it runs the fan at high speed. I managed to heat up the probe by placing it in my hand for a few seconds, and as soon as it hit the 31'c threshold, a surprisingly loud alarm sounded and the LCD stayed on the CPU information display, frantically flashing the temperature at me - during all this it kicked the fan into max speed. Now, if my processor was about to melt into some sort of silicon soup, this is exactly the kind of warning I'd want my computer to give me, aside from shutting itself off or flashing up an onscreen warning (Windows generally covers that, though!), although those features - unless hardwired into the motherboard - sometimes don't come into play until the system has booted into Windows, and by then it may be too late.

Don't bother getting those digital fan speed controller.
The best is still those fan speed controller that uses knobs.

Knobs is always better than those push button.

Today I went to Lowyat Plaza to search for decent fan controller but came back empty handed. It's damn hard to get a good fan controller like those Silverstone's or Evercool's fan controllers....I asked almost every shop!! vmad.gif

In the end, I decided to get these Zalman fan controllers from Moderno on the way back!! and luckily it works like a charm!!! But one thing i dun like is when i reduce the voltage, the brightness of the LED reduces also... doh.gif

Offcourse that will happen.
Because most of those LED that is on the fan are connected in one PCB, one wiring.
Means the led shares the same powersource as the fan.

You want an LED fan that won't reduce the light when u reduce the speed of fan?

Look no further, go for AC Ryan Blackfire4 fans. thumbup.gif

Anybody here can suggest Fan controller? Currently looking at the NZXT Sentry Mix 2, but wondering if you guys are using anything else that's nice.

If it has a single PWM channel for my pump it'll be all the better

Planning to control up to 10-11 fans. So I most probably have to use a splitter to control 2-3 fans per channel.

And holy crap this thread is dead for 3 years. @.@

For controlling PWM fans, you have to use this http://www.zalman.com/global/product/Produ...ead.php?Idx=376 but dont use this to control you high ampere fan, it will pop smoke
Most fan controller i know does not support PWM mode, except the the controller above.

If you are using Asus mobo, you dont need fan controller at all, it can control and monitor fans with all the headers, except the PWR_FAN header.

I don't have PWM fans at the moment. Its only the pump which has a four pin PWM cable which if I can, would be interested to control from the controller.

Saw the Zalman before. It's one of my candidates, but I don't need a dedicated PWM controller I guess.

Why dont you plug it into the mobo's CPU pwm fan header?
you can use pwm y splitter cable if the header is already occupied.

Yeah I know I could, but I was just wondering if there is a controller with a PWM pump channel. Haha.

But anyways, yeah, I think I have to stick with the mobo header. Back to normal fan controllers, what do you recommend? I'm looking at The Sentry Mix 2.

That pwm pump channel basically is same as controlling and PWM fans, so if you really wan to control it, us the Zalman fan controller i recommended i above, sweat.gif
For normal fan controller, any would do, the only difference between them are how many AMPS the controller can support and how fancy the control panel, and how many channel it has.
Lamptron one aint bad, im using one but only for monitoring the temps lol. No recommendations as i dont use fan controller anymore sweat.gif

Well, I was hoping for an all in one unit. One channel for the pump, and the rest for the fans which is regulated via voltage. Hahaha.

Yeah looking at Lamptron too. But I think I'll get the Sunbeam Rheosmart 6. Each channel can be PWM or normal. Which fits my needs perfectly.

Forget about the $224USD one. Hahaha. I like Aquacomputer stuff, but not THAT much. I'm thinking off getting the non screen Aqua 5LT fan controller too. Friend has it and it works like a charm .

Basic? It's more advance than most controllers out there hahaha.

Damage is $76.95USD on Frozencpu to be exact. Very tempting.

Bro there is still a open slot in the Frozencpu Bulk. If you're serious you can join. But it's closing by by tomorrow.

Yeah, it's a sick as hell controller. But I think I will stick to cheaper voltage control 5.25 inch bay ones for ease of use first. Only need to prevent my Yate Loons from making my case into an internal cyclone.

Any cheap 5.25 cdrom fan speed controller ? if possible not over RM100
Any quiet fan recommend ? Not over RM 30 PWN 4pin.Mainly quiet on idle below 1000rpm or lower.Mainly just to move air out.

no idea on controllers.

for cheap fans, if you don't mind not having pwm, then there's the cheap silverstone/coolermasters from LYP/various sources.
there's also arctic cooling F12 if you still can find them.

good ones are the noctua however they are twice over your budget in the rm50-70 range sad.gif

there was a sifu selling it, gotten fed up by most Malaysian cheapskates.
viewnet used to sell it, but i reckon profit margin isn't so nice and they stopped selling as well.

honestly, i can't help you as i'm looking for them myself sad.gif
