My 1.5Adv got some weird sound when drive on bumpy road. The SC found is a Steering Rack issue. They submitted to Headquarter to get advice on tht weird noise. I had mentioned to SC that whether is coil spring noise, they said no n this is not 1st badge d20n myvi. Now lets wait for the part send frm Headquarter if its approved frm Steering Rack noise

QUOTE(xcves @ Apr 1 2019, 01:37 PM) i have this sound too. @xcves ya more n more annoying~ sighits different from rattling sound. and its definitely metal sound. either metal brushing with metal, or some loose metal part. initially i thought its the hood stand also but its not. it sounds more like its coming from the front right tyre / chassis of the driver side.. initially it only sounds when i go over humps or potholes, but recently slight road imperfections also the noise quite obvious already. @darren_yuri i guess u facing what i faced~ sigh~ more n more d20n lovers impacted |

QUOTE(pin0245 @ Apr 2 2019, 12:28 PM) yes, i have the same thing happened on my myvi, i have no idea what is it as well. it sounds "nguk" whenever went through speed stripes, bumps and slightly up and down road. you got to be real slow whenever passing roads with these conditions, but that would be just really unacceptable when this things not happen on any other car. Better report it to SC. I had done my report last month. I'm still waiting their headquarter feedback. Sighi'd suspect the sound was made upon contact from the rubber stripe under our car's front bumper with the road surfaces, but it is just really don't make sense when you evaluate the car ground clearance on the front with the road surfaces and the car speed. |

QUOTE(pin0245 @ Apr 12 2019, 05:12 PM) i think insulation wouldn't solve the problem. previously i did tried to press the tonneau cover and let it hit the rear bonnet, it did makes the same sound when i'm driving through those road surfaces mentioned earlier. you may try so when your car is parked to see if i'm correct. That rear sound is the rear seats hook loosen. I DIY it by using black wire wrapper to cover d *U* shape rear seats. It solved those rear sound when drive uneven roads.and i'm actually have an idea of putting long sponge under the edge of the tonneau cover(the red lining in the photo below), but yet to do so or could be saying still can't think of the right material to DIY. QUOTE(jasonwsl @ Mar 28 2019, 10:47 AM) https://youtu.be/bHDjs0hZpas Updated: Steering Rack part arrived. Now at Perodua Petani road replacing the part. Will keep updates once done. The sounds like cranking weird steel sound from engine bay when u drive thru those yellow stripes n red stripes on the road... Updated After fixed: Still getting the weird sound... Sigh… Updated 6pm: Weird sound finally gone… culprit, due to the coil spring top n bottom not covered with rubber insulator, similar to Myvi d20n 1st batch well-known issue. Yah! It's happened to 2nd batch too. You may referred to Petani Road S.A. Din, just mentioned 9339Myvi, if u guys faced the same weird sound as mine... Appointment 830am till 6pm only settled.
