1.5 Adv, Lava Red. Car booked on 7th June, registered 30 June...still waiting for delivery. Hopefully this week can get the car.  sweat.gif
*
Why lately everyone is getting the car late even though it has already been registered? Last time you can get it 2-3 days after register... confused.gif

Should be after booking. Last time got someone who booked on 2017 but only secure loan on 2018, still got his car within 3 months after booking.

I'm 186cm, and everyone around me is telling me to get my I at least, and axia will look kinda out of place if someone of my size is driving, so wells
*
Just go to the showroom first and try sitting in axia. I think space won't be much of an issue, but the steering might be since it's fix.

About your question whether to buy 2nd or new one, I'd say if you go with 2nd hand better to find one that has full service record by Perodua. You'll have better peace of mind knowing it is maintained on schedule by Perodua.

Main difference between new gen with prev gen Myvi is handling. Fuel consumption has also improved, but not much difference if you drive mainly in city. I'm saying this with the experience of driving my parent's Myvi "Lagi Best" for 1 year++ and now owning gen 3 Myvi.

Anyone knows how to activate the follow me home function? I have pushed forward the right lever as indicated in the owners manual and locked the car using the keyless function. But no lights have been turned on.

Also, the ASA on my Myvi 1.5 adv seems like not functioning. How to confirm this? Hahaha please teach sifus 🙏
*
Follow me home function - turn off car engine, then pull light lever like giving high beam.

For the ASA, the simplest way is at traffic light. Once traffic goes green, don't move your car yet. Once the car in front of you is away about 3m away already then the ASA should give sound. This is the "Front Departure Alert".

Read through your ASA user manual and take some time to understand it. ASA keep intevening is not good as well, it means that your driving is not safe tongue.gif

I have been offered full loan for 1.5H at 3.23% p.a. by MBB. Repayment period is 7 years.

Just wanna know if this is within the range of rates currently being offered by the banks.
*
Is the full loan offered by MBB or you're actually applying for full loan?

Full loan interest rate is generally higher than normal. So if you can afford d/p, then you should not take the full loan.

Just for comparison purpose, last time when I applied for loan, Affin Bank offered me 2.95 for 5 years, 2.97 for 7 years, and 2.99 for 9 years. Affin bank has this weird trend where they offer lower interest rate for shorter period; which is reversed from other banks.

Yeap Dino thank you indeed if ASA runs too often that means heyy my driving needs improvements. The front departure alert does work so at least I know the cameras are doing its job!

Re the follow me home function, do I need to manually set it everytime after turning off the engine? Is there a way to make it auto?
*
I don't think there is a way to make it auto, you can try ask Perodua on next service. I only use them if I park in dark area, which is very rarely. Always using it might not be good as well for the battery I think...

Have been driving the new myvi close to 1 month, generally it's quite a fun car to drive and I would sum it as small but complete (of course comparing amongst the similar range of car)

IMO, one major part it can be improved further is its sound proofing. I feel that the door and road noise entering cabin quite obvious after 70-80km/h and also wind noise quite annoying after 110km/h, mine one can hear like someone whistling inside the car. Wonder anyone else have the same issue?

For those who has done the sound proofing, appreciate you may share your experience of before & after by :
1) only sound proof the doors
2) door and boot
3) all doors, boot and flooring.
*
Whistling sound when driving above 110 km/h... Quite annoying at times actually. Not sure how to seal the door properly to get rid of the whistling sound.

anyone use the current fuel consumption (CFC) on the ODOmeter?

does it keep fluctuating as you drive?
mine fluctuates until 40+km/liter biggrin.gif
*
As the name itself suggest, it's showing Current Fuel Consumption. So depending on your throttle position/speed/etc. it will keep changing. Try stopping your car, it will show you 0km/L. Doesn't mean your car can go on without fuel sampai mati.

If you want to see the average, just go to FC screen. CFC is good for those who are FC conscious so they can control their foot to get better FC.

Hi all, wanna ask is there any possibility to mod the seat belt alert sound? It's quite annoying..

like make it only alert after 40km/h speed or so.
*
There's no way to do that iinm. Usually people bypass the alert by using the seat belt extender, just put it in the slot.

But always remember, safety first icon_rolleyes.gif

hmm.gif can we on the fog light before switch on the "clearance" light?

coz today when i turn on fog light, thinking it was on, until reach home realised its not illuminated at all.

then when i turn the on the 'clearance' light, then the fog light only illuminated

i recall last time i can turn on fog light without turn on the 'clearance' light hmm.gif
*
If by "clearance" light you mean the dim light, then yes. No car will switch it on with the headlamp is off.

Unless you buy a car without headlamp and go to accessory shop to install fog light, they will install separate switch that can work even without turning on headlamp.

Did anyone here registered for the RFID pilot testing? Anyone fit to their new myvi yet? How is it?

I got my invitation to join the pilot program, but since my car is Adv model, not sure if I should go with it or not confused.gif

Last time when my SA how much want to cover, I ask him to check with Perodua how much does the windshield cost. For ADV spec, it's actually 1.6k sweat.gif

It might cost a bit to cover 1.6k, but better safe than sorry. I already experience the need to top up during replacing windshield with my old car, so I just decide to take the whole amount this time.

Have 2 issues with my G3 Myvi. I purchased the Myvi 1.5 AV. Wonder if anyone here has the same issue:

1. Whistling sound coming from side mirror when driving above 90km/h
2. Unable to connect my Samsung Note 9 to the built in headunit Android mirror link. It keeps on displaying loading screen, but does not connect. I've already enabled developer mode as per instructions, but still no go.

Anyone able to give me some advice? Thanks in advance!
*
1. I also experienced the whistling sound.
2. I believe your Note 9 must be using latest version of android, which doesn't work with our HU. Like someone said, the HU will need updating itself, so try ask Perodua SC.

Let this serve as a useful comparison for everyone (whether current owners or prospective buyers) deciding between Myvi or Iriz.
All info are official and can be found at:
Perodua :
http://www.perodua.com.my/service-maintena...wmyvi-1500cc/10

Proton :

Did you include the offset that Proton quote is for semi-synthetic while Perodua quote is for fully synthetic?

If not, the 800 ringgit difference we can offset by the 11 servicing interval in your chart. This comes up around RM72 per service. So as long as PROTON's fully synthetic won't have an additional cost of RM72, then Iriz will be cheaper to maintain.

All in all, I think the difference between the 2 car is not that much of a difference.

I was comparing between Persona & Myvi last time, but the deal breaker for me was Proton's CVT. Yes it was refined, but I can still feel the jerk in low traffic. I'm using Myvi 1.5AV since March (16,000 km now).

QUOTE(LordDenning @ Oct 30 2018, 12:25 PM)
im just using official service items and schedule.
myvi can only use that type of EO right if im not mistaken. ( feel free to correct me on this)
as for the iriz, can use mineral, semi and fully syn. SC and officially as per user manual, it recommends that semi-syn is more than enough for Iriz. and if you send for service they will default auto use semi-syn oil. If you want fully syn you have to request for it.

So dont need to go into the fully syn vs semi-syn debate. I just follow what the car makers think is best or adequate enough for the cars that they produced. They know better than us.

And besides its a freaking campro engine, its a robust tank. Proton knows it. Not like use fully syn on that campro will suddenly make the campro become a better engine lol.

So yeah, as per official servicing items, the cost is what it is as i have calculated above.

anyway yeah i get your point on the bolded item as well. A lot of people have difficulties or just hate the cvt on the iriz.
As for me, well I could adapt it since day one. So i dont find it a problem. Just need to learn that CVT especially Punch CVT, works differently than a 4AT.
Hence the transmission on Myvi or Iriz is not a deal breaker for me. Both are fine for me, working as intended.

But my gripe with this 4AT though, its reluctant to downshift when you tekan minyak. Thats what i felt when i went test drive yesterday. Making overtaking acceleration seem slower.. At least i feel its slower and more laggy than my 1.3 iriz, yes even with CVT, and also my old myvi 1.5 lagi best..

I suspect its due to the way they tune it to make it more fuel saving and for the EEV status of the car, etc..  Which is quite a shame, because i like the 1.5l dual vvti engine a lot more.

Oh and one more thing, for all the complaints the Iriz had for the engine + cvt transmission noises, the new Myvi's engine + transmission is even louder. I cant be the only one who thinks its loud right? Even every review video i checked out on youtube, when you pedal its seriously loud the engine sound. Overall NVH the Iriz still performs better than the new Myvi.
*
I used Saga FLX before, so believe me I have no problem driving with the CVT. But it doesn't change the fact that I hate the way Punch CVT behave. If they can make the CVT how Toyota & Honda did, then I would not hate it as much I think.

I believe you are right about Myvi gearbox tuning. But believe me, I have no issue overtaking now. Just like you said, you need to learn the gearbox behavior then you won't have any problem at all.

From your response you do seem to be more inclined to buy another Iriz. Maybe wait for the facelift version? icon_idea.gif

If your car is 1.5AV then yes. Only AV comes with free security tint from factory.

Is it worth waiting for new MYVI SE or should I get 1.5 Adv now ?
*
There's no indication that SE will be released. If you're talking about the one displayed during KLIMS, that is only a concept being tested by Perodua.

If you need car in the near future, just get 1.5AV. Otherwise wait for the SE (be it 10 years or 20 years).
