Just go to the showroom first and try sitting in axia. I think space won't be much of an issue, but the steering might be since it's fix.
About your question whether to buy 2nd or new one, I'd say if you go with 2nd hand better to find one that has full service record by Perodua. You'll have better peace of mind knowing it is maintained on schedule by Perodua.
Main difference between new gen with prev gen Myvi is handling. Fuel consumption has also improved, but not much difference if you drive mainly in city. I'm saying this with the experience of driving my parent's Myvi "Lagi Best" for 1 year++ and now owning gen 3 Myvi.
I just did some calculations regarding running costs plus depreciation comparing old (5 y/o) Vs new myvi, assuming I'll be keeping the car for at least 5 years.
New myvi-
Initial price: 45k
Value left after 5 years: 25k
Repairs: none becoz 5 years warranty
Running cost including depreciation approx 20k over 5 years
Old myvi-
Initial price: 25k
Value left after 5 years: 12k
Repairs: around 10k throughout 5 years?
Running cost including depreciation approx 22k over 5 years
So according to this calculation it seems like old and new myvi cost almost same amount of money to run throughout the same 5 years... Feel free to enlighten me or correct my calculations or state out anything that I've missed out on this calculation... Thanks
