Budget rm800 max

Many thanks!

once you go ultrawide, you never go wide.

gaming on mine has been spectacular. doing light game development on it has been great too.

Thanks for your replies guys. So ultrawide is better? Read somewhere that you need at least gtx1060 to run something like the lg29wk600, is this true?

Edit: I forgot to mention that I'm planning to plug my laptop to the monitor, it has gtx 970m. As possibly a ps4 in the near future rclxms.gif

LOL. Maybe got typo there. biggrin.gif

Anyway, wide isn't for everyone.

For my video work wide is great.

For games, it depends on what titles you play.

I play Overwatch, wide screen is a disadvantage so have to stick to 16:9 on wide. StarCraft II on wide it will be stretched.

I second this suggestion simply for the reason that the LG's Ultrawide being 2560 x 1080 and at 29" so it's actually quite small which defeats the purpose of it being Ultra Wide in the first place.

Get the Viewsonic VX3209 32" 1440P would be better. Same pixel width as the LG but you get additional pixels in height and overall bigger screen for easier view.

yeah, competitive multiplayer titles usually ends up with either 16:9 or stretched up as seeing more would mean you have advantage over people with inferior wide monitors.

but elite dangerous on my ultrawide is glorious.

AAA titles usually works great on Ultra Wide monitors, The Witcher III for example.

TS didn't specify what sort of gaming though, if AAA title then awesome stuff.

UWA support varies from game to game but I believe most titles have it working fine already.

I have to agree with goldfries here, I was at C-Zone in LYP and saw the 31.5" Viewsonic side by side with the 29" ultrawide LG. If you can spare the extra cash the Viewsonic is the way to go. If you have some time, drop by the store and check it out yourself, although I'd suggest buying online since it's a good bit cheaper.

Oh right, I mostly play PC games like Overwatch, Rise of the Tomb Raider, that sort of games. I may also add a PS4 in the future, not sure if the games will scale well on the 29" ultrawide LG sweat.gif anybody got experience?

So the 16:9 is still better? I don't think I can afford the 31.5", its a 2K display right?

If want to be safe, I'll stick to the ol' 16:9. If want more workspace, ultrawide. Dilemma dilemma whistling.gif

It's your own hard earned cash. Go out there and check it out yourself. Look at it side by side in real life, don't just depend on what people say.

For Overwatch it works with 21:9 but you will be at disadvantage because top and bottom is cut off, this means if Pharah or Widowmaker is up there somewhere you won't see her when others can.

You can set it to 16:9 and have black bars at the side but being a 29" wide monitor then it works like 24" 16:9 I believe.

Hi guys! Sorry for being absent for so long & thanks for all your replies and suggestions. Just decided last night to get a 24 inch instead. Aiming for Viewsonic VX2476smhd. Moving to a new house soon and found out my new desk there is not big enough for 27 inch sweat.gif

Yeah I have seen some of the gameplays on the 21:9. Don't like the black sidebars, which is why I am not going ultrawide. whistling.gif whistling.gif Thanks ya
