Foreman say all inclusive, warranty 1 year. But he say myvi mounting don't last very long, but 2-3 years should be fine. Just don't expect 5-10 years duration. Normal?

My 12 years old year 2005 myvi still with original engine mounting. No crack no harden and no vibration issue since the day one I got the car.

I have a Myvi 1.0. Only changed the mounting once. The original mounting lasted about 2 years. Now 10 years later it's still holding. My speculation is that there were probably problems in the manufacturing for the early batches, and the engine mount rubber didn't come out the factory with consistent quality, but they didn't bother to do a recall. This is just my own hypothesis based on observations. Many Myvi owners never reported problems after the first pre-mature failure.

Some might survive beyond 10 years. Depends on mileage, road conditions, parking under shade, driving styles, etc.

According to mechanic, majority of drivers not able to detect deteriorating mounts as the wear is gradual. As you mentioned, driver get used to the vibrations.

Tumpang to ask. Went to two separate technician and both advice change car engine mounting. Car vibrate when idle, less vibrate when driving fast. Both shop say it's engine mounting.

One quote me 400+, another quote me 380.

Want to ask, do I need to urgently fix this? Car is 10 years old plus, I bought second hand for 3 years never fix mounting before. Don't know if previous car owner got fix it before.

Myvi ezi.

Hi,
is your mounting problem has been fixed?
Which workshop at last you when to?
Just service my myvi, the SC advice me to change the mounting. but i drive i dont really feel the vibration. So maybe sooner or later i might feel the vibration. They quoted me RM681.40 (3pcs + labour). So now i want to check whether that price is what should i need to pay for.

Thank you for sharing your experience. and thank you also for the rest who will share your mounting problem experience here.

one thing to note, official SC usually usually ask you to change based on standard time and mileage, not condition of the parts.
perhaps you should ask if there is any problem with the mounting and ask them show you.

then you would gain more knowledge as well.

as for me. i'm driving 7 and a half year on my honda city already. just the other day, i sendiri fikir sendiri puji, the car was quite silent when in idle (was having rpm unstable previously but fixed with throttle cleaning almost a half a year ago i think).

now based on what you guys say, cant feel vibration, i'm not sure if my engine mounting is still in good condition.
any idea how to see visibly?

Below RM200 for labour is cheap. I went to 4 workshops asking to change engine mounting (using my parts) and they all quote RM250 and above. Expensive gila but no choice cause no other workshop available as it's a small town.
