Tumpang to ask. Went to two separate technician and both advice change car engine mounting. Car vibrate when idle, less vibrate when driving fast. Both shop say it's engine mounting.

One quote me 400+, another quote me 380.

Want to ask, do I need to urgently fix this? Car is 10 years old plus, I bought second hand for 3 years never fix mounting before. Don't know if previous car owner got fix it before.

Myvi ezi.

You need to change the mounting if you intend to drive for another few years.
Firstly check for any other issue that need to be replace so that the workman ship will be much cheaper.

eg : check bearing of the pulley too

1 set three pieces RM380, vibration almost cannot tahan jor. Foreman say change one by one will be more expensive, so he recommend change all three.

Foreman say all inclusive, warranty 1 year. But he say myvi mounting don't last very long, but 2-3 years should be fine. Just don't expect 5-10 years duration. Normal?

Are you sure. Even for car alternator, once installed and runs okay. Warranty void already. You can ask any foreman. This is even more expensive that engine mounting.

I was wondering the mounting were original or OEM. the OEM usually got 3 mth warranty. I think original mounting should last at least 5 years, unless very poor road condition daily smile.gif

i got 3 mths warranty for my rear wheel bearing. my current myvi is already 12 yrs old...the mounting problem happen before it reached 5 yrs old. actually it's a well known issue for myvi.
compared to saga blm (used to own one)..engine mounting still ok after 7 yrs.

I see. If it is well known, then it is more into mounting angle and design issue that they think is not priority to fix. Just wait until next design release biggrin.gif

Yup u have to change engine mounting. Change 3 instead of 1 bcos all new. About price for myvi im not sure.

Tips, search google where u can buy original part. Then go pasang at ur trusted mechanic. Some workshop claim this ori that ori but actually OEM. For me, better buy ori bcos this is wear tear part.

I call foreman and ask again. He say yes 1 year warranty for the engine mounting. Anything wrong with the engine mounting bring to workshop and he will settle. Sounds confident will have no issue. Didn't mention OEM or original. But at least better than alternator, install then void warranty.
