Problem is, do you think for Newzealand trip , is it sufficient with 10-18mm lens?
or i should take another backup camera/lens for the trip?

or any lens pouch actually easily for us to change the lens?

FF or as small as m43 camera? Cause the size difference between the two lens ecosystem is huge. If m43 camera, just carry both. Wide for scenary shots (NZ has a lot of those) and 17-50 for normal shoot even at own self or family.

If u using FF, i think 17-50 more than enough.

Canon 80D v 10-18mm.
I worry portrait sucks for this lens .
But maybe I will do 6 in video and 4 in photo.

if you dont plan to do any night time or closeup portraiture, the 10-18mm should be fine for most of the application.

If I were to choose standard zoom vs UWA zoom, I'll go with standard zoom. It's more versatile.

Then i would say either 17-50 or both. Reason being for casual 17-50 is more normal focal view. You probably won't want your entire travel photos just looking ultra wide.

not just NZ but any trip will apply the same rule, unless u are going for hiking or any dangerous activity which limiting your photography activity, u may need to bring only one lens.

So back to your concern, 10-18 is just enough if u are aiming for landscape only,
but sometimes u will crave for bokeh and that's where 17-50 will help u.
Bokeh on this lens is not creamy enough but if u zoom to 50, and use largest aperture ( I believe 2.8 is for this lens), will do the job.

Good luck and happy traveling

10-18 is not nice for many type of scenes.

Try for example shoot wedding with UWA, scenes that suit UWA would be nice (obviously) but the rest of the scenes either look awkward or empty.

UWA is very limited.

I would suggest you to bring

Wide angle lens: 10-18 is sufficient for that matter

And also

30-50 mm focal length lenses, preferably 1.8 or 1.4

This 2 lenses can cover most of the situation, day & night.

And if you have telephoto lenses somewhere in between 70-100mm, that will be good addition.

There are many situation where telephoto lense is useful for street & travel photography.

17-50 for me. if you need a photo wider than 17mm, you can do a panorama. no problem for landscape.

for video, you can always pan and tilt to show more of the scene. 17mm isnt too bad for vlogging.

personally, I think UWA lens has to be used sparingly.... if every shot is so wide, it gets kinda boring.
