Hi all, I had always had a crush with shad cases, ironically, love on the first sight.
Apparently, I had obtained a bracket and am about to shop for a box.
Any SHAD users can share their review on their cases? I am looking for a top box as of now, planning to go for the side cases in the future. Currently I'm with z650. Usage wise, I want to store the helmet, and some other small small stuff here and there.

Hi there, I had been using Shad SH48 top box for more than a year now. Quality is good, no discoloration even though i park under the sun everyday. Long distance ride with cruising speed of 170 kmh doesn't shake the bike much, but be cautious when riding close or behind huge vehicles like alphard/ esteema etc. That shakes the bike a bit. I am on touring bike, not sure if it will be different for your naked.
Besides that, I store 2 helmets in it, and still have some space for my other stuff like tool kit, phone holder etc. Locking mechanism is sturdy and never gave problem so far.

That is a nice idea dude! haha! If they are cheaper there (is it?) then just ride there (boxless) and ride back to malaysia with the box. I bet the customs won't make any noise. I can see that along Jalan Kelantan, there are just bikes shop everywhere SG Jalan Kelantan

I asked SHAD malaysia before, bracket for z650 is RM790. That is a 3P bracket to hold hard boxes and it is bike specific. Din't ask for box prices though.

Hmm, was thinking of Shad too where my givi sideboxes malfuctioned during high speed bumps, one fell off the bike and the other popped open. Givi topbox too has been known to take off. Overloaded and huge impact shock makes Givi a flyboy.

I messaged them through facebook, the price is now SGD130. That is relatively MYR383. Shad Malaysia btw, is selling them for RM530. Considering the hassle to go there and such, you cannot save that much too. But for the sake of 'travelling' there and spent 1 shot, i think it is worth it. My other friend of mine told his story about going in SG with nothing and coming back to Malaysia with loads of things. That is particularly have some truth in it where a Sidi shoe is as low as SGD150 only. Check : http://chongaik.comGenerally I think SG is a nice place to shop, but worthfull if you spent one shot in a single journey. Well, unless you stay near SG lah.. haha

I got mine installed earlier this week. SH39. I got it installed with the back rest (plus additional RM90 iinm). Indeed, the best investment so far. Wifey said Shad box is nice to the eye and the back rest is just a perfect addition. Sorry i didnt have the side pics. But it took up a space of the pillion rider but that didn't affect the ride experience. I can fit in my fullface helmet (obviously). I can also put in my jacket together and thats it. I can also put in my bagpack (with a 13" laptop) read: empty box. If you're intending to use two helmets inside the box, you can do that by using both open face helmets. Fullface helmet wise, maybe 1 fullface, 1 openface. Else, opt for SH48 which is about 3-4 hundreds extra. That should do it. It does have some noticeable wind drag, but that doesn't restrict my cornering or cilok2 traffic jam.

QUOTE(skyblu3 @ Aug 3 2018, 08:56 PM) How's is this bike? Good? I like the powerband, press and go go go.. My friend said that it is light & small, well it is (compare to some semi/full litre bikes). Easy to cilok on stalled traffics. RM10 (ron 97) easily transelate to 100km on average. ABS is just great. Stopping power cun (since they come with 2 rotors up front). 2 litres of engine oil needed during service, total service cost would be below RM200 Just that the sound of the stock muffler is subtle to many. You might want to change em during your first month 😅😅😅

Mind to share the shop? I'm considering the back rest for 58x. Congrats on your purchase anyway!! I prefer Shad than others mostly because of the looks.

Not sure why as I know Street bike is suppose to be comfy. I don't have this issue riding my vs650. Maybe I'm too used to cruiser and not so on a street bike.

I bought the Shad 48 because match with the width of the bike... ample storage, but if you have more budget get the Expandable one.. since the lid for the 48 is quite low ... (cant put anything else on the top of ur helmet)

I'm not into top box, panniers are enough. But I neet to cover my wife's ass so I'm looking a small box for that purpose. Pelican seems to be a good choice but the price is killing me. Any advise, does shad come with small boxy type.

See below example: But that is with the Daviel as an example. This is mine: with Shad 39 & fitted with backrest (my wife is loving it)

It was a few kms stretch. Couldn't tell it is not shaky, but i don't feel that obvious 'shaky'. Its sturdy, but maybe you can feel a little bit of resistance/drag due to a box behind you trying to break the air resistance as well. My bag weight is about 2-3 kgs is always with the box when i'm riding.

When you hit a bump or slammed the bike hard enough they might fly off that bracket so put things lightly. I've had couple of times my sideboxes popped open or fell off because of weight. The tell tale sign is the loose fit when the box is locked in place. There may be temporary fix but as it wear off the problems come again.
