just wondering, is the forum having issue displaying embedded images from 3rd party hosting?

last week, i tried imgur, got issue displaying it. then i changed to pictr.com and it worked fine.

now, i recheck the pictr.com image again, it's showing as broken image.

ok, i just reconnect to mobile internet (unifi) instead of office LAN.

probably the firewall is filtering specific sites.

will monitor this at home using Unifi fiber.

thanks!

imgur has blocked hotlinking from lowyat.net due to the fact that trade zone sellers are using imgur to host their images.

it is against imgur's TOS to hotlink their images for commercial/profit reasons.

the http workaround is something temporary, probably due to an oversight on their end. It is not recommended.

we might set up a bbcode tag to link their images, but otherwise, try the many other picture hosting options available online.

https://pictr.com is our own image hosting option. Give it a go.

My linked images from imgur are still working. I think. Just checked a few. Maybe because I used linked bbcode.

pictr looks good. Wasn't aware of it till now.

Another option for light users would be cloudinary.com. Bandwidth limit of 20GB/month though. Storage 10GB. CDNed by Akamai.

newly-linked imgur or old images?

for me, no issues with old images @ imgur.
