I spilled some liquid on my laptop just now. The screen automatically switched to the bios screen (I think dats the bios screen). Is this normal?
I have turned the laptop upside down to let it air dry now. Not sure if it is damaged. I removed the cover and there was some liquid, but not much. How much is this going to cost if I rele have to send it for repair?

Thanks.
If it's just bios screen, you should be fine. Take off the battery if possible.
How wet do we talk about right now? Either way, have anyone with experience to take it apart and let it dry under running fans is sufficient enough. If possible, take off the keyboard (there's a tuto on youtube, vary by model) and heat blow your internal lappy from behind the k/b. Be aware of k/b attached cable.
Speaking of repairing experience, your issue were usually not-critical as you thought..long as it wasn't turn on yet.
if less than a cup and the spill only on the keyboard i dun think it will harm ur mobo.but try to keep it realy dry before try to turn it on. and also remove the battery if ur battery removeable...

Thanks for ur reply.
It's like half a cup of the cheap cheap Ikea cup. It's an internal battery so I wasn't able to remove the it at that time.
I opened the bottom cover and wiped off the water, inside, not much thankfully. I didn't dare to go further to the keyboard cuz I have no experience. Right now I just leave it upside down and let it air dry for, according to Goggle 24 to 48 hrs.
I hope I won't have problems putting back the cover afterwards.
Thanks for ur kind word, feel better after reading ur reply.

It might be stupid to ask lol, but why use vacuum cleaner? To "suck" the liquid?
I am using USB fan to blow dry it. Hopefully still got a chance to save it b4 I send to for repair tmr. Sigh.

You have a broken connection on the connector. A broken trace will affect several key(s) on your KB. Broke a wire in a matrix, you'll knock several key.
It's relative easy to flip out/replace the keyboard on your own. Just google out "replace laptop keyboard <insert model or brand>" and it takes less than 30sec to flip it out Perhaps wipe the back out, dry blow*, and nudge nudge the matrix circuit back as your last option. With me, it worked a few time, on few laptop
Hell, its possible by just reseating the connector even!!
If it was an old model by 5years + ago, there's mountain lot of 2nd unit sold at lowyat plaza at a bang price; Fret not, a new is it just tad pricier
Godspeed.
*hair dryer are seriously prohibited, as the temp might broke the matrix trace. Its heat conductive.

thanks for your reply, but I have already sent it for a repair. I have no confidence to open the keyboard part.
The shop said that my keyboard is damaged. It costs RM180 to fix it.
