I am using ViewSonic VX2025wm 20.1" Widescreen, MVA panel, bought 2 months ago at PCFair with RM799.

Gaming is great!

I've noticed it since i got my lcd, always thought it was due to your graphics card outputting more frames per second then your monitor's refresh rate.  So my assumption was that v-sync just synced the frames your graphics card to the refresh rate on your monitor?

I am quite aware of tearing as well, but I have learnt to live with it.

Turning on V-Sync will eliminate tearing. But your framerate will suddenly jump from very smooth to jerky when the action is intense. However, for games like Titan Quest, I definitely have to turn V-Sync on, or else it would be impossible for me to play. For FPS, I can live with tearing.

I am eying for ViewSonic VG2030wm 20.1" WS. Is it a good LCD in general? Any problem with that model?

btw, from what I see in viewsonic web, they have 4 lines of LCD, VA,VG,VX and  VP
I want to know is there any difference between VX and VG aside ftrom design?
nowadays is hard to find 20"widescreen sweat.gif

VX has a much better design, while VG has that ugly looking speaker strip at the bottom. Most importantly, 20.1" WS VX series uses MVA panel, while the VG model you mentiont uses TN panel. TN panel has very low response time, but color wise not as good as MVA panel.

btw, I am using a ViewSonic VX2025wm 20.1 WS. quite nice.

I am using 8600GT, and I am having problem going 1680*1050 for some of the games, like STALKER, Overlord, DiRT, unless you lower the settings a lot.

I would say at least a 8800GTS 320MB, for a 22 incher. That itself would mean medium settings for latest games.
