wow nice 226bw
i heard samsung got 1 new 226cw right?
what is the difference between 226bw and 226cw?
*
SO far i know 226cw using WCG (Wide Colour Gamut),So the colour range will increase about 10-20% compare to 226bw.But th price u will probably expect 10-20% also compare to 226bw maybe. smile.gif

*
For me the WCG is not a concern to me lar...Coz lazy to wait the 226cw available and then wait for it price drop again.Somemore dont know wats the price when it comes out,if too high then better top up and buy a 24' inch better lar.Just depends what you need brother.

I personally think Samsung's design aint that great. I prefer the Dell's design.(But the best is Ultrasharp's design. Just love the Alu+black combination).

Added on August 17, 2007, 10:35 pm
U set ur brightness to 0? Why ah? Is the monitor that bright? @ first i had the problem la. So i reduced the contrast. Now its ok.
*
For normal use sure i set my brightness to 90 contrast 75. But to take a photo of my monitor if brightness no set to 0 the monitor in picture will come out 'ultrabright' smile.gif For the monitor design,i think that is depends on personal preferences, cant judge on that hmm.gif

Brightness 90? Very bright la, especially if view on white background  sweat.gif

I set mine, brightness to 30 & Contrast 80. Just my personal preference.  laugh.gif
*
For internet using i normally set the brightness until 50-60.That's considered comfortable for my eye ord.If brightness 30 it's a little too dark for me.However for gaming,hehe...brightness 90 and contrast 80 lor...

With all the 22 inch hype around, imma join the bandwagon too. wink.gif Plan to grab a 22 incher soon, but i still got some doubts.

Like all the other questions above:

Does Nvidia drivers support 1:1 mapping? Cuz AFAIK Samsung 226BW does not have that function. goldfries mentioned about 1:1 mapping via Nvidia drivers, but that could also be due to his monitor (Dell Ultrasharp) being able to support it by itself.

Anyone got anything bad to say about 226BW?  tongue.gif This sounds strange but i'd like to know what i should and should not expect.

Thanks a bunch!

I juz Bought 206BW it's bright and vivid colour
i use it 4 my X360 juz nice!!

The bad thing is that i cant resize the vertical size
*
Nvidia control panel can do 1:1 mapping using integrated function, just go to 'change flat panel scaling' and choose 'do not scale'. Then when you change ur resolution the display size will fixed with the resolution that you changed.Anyway,Samsung 226bw can be cosidered as among the best monitor in 22'inch widescreen category, anyway i got nothing bad to say about 226bw. Dont compare this with dell ultrasharp monitor as samsung is using TN panel.

Introducing the Samsung 225MS
user posted image

22" at 1680x1050 with HDMI input, 5ms response time, build-in SRS TruSurround XT(R) Technology speakers & glossy piano black exterior. Also has composite and S-video. Well done Samsung.

QUOTE(sniperwolf @ Aug 26 2007, 01:26 AM)
Well dont think its cheap either. Might price up close to rm1.5k. And it still on TN panel if not mistaken
*
Don think it will be rm1500 bah...too overpriced though...if like that people better get a 24 inch lcd..If samsung really want to competite in 22'inch lcd,it will 1st cut the current 226bw price and increase a few hundred for 226cw and this model.

Anyway, this lcd looks really cool than my 226bw!!!

Just grabbed a Samsung 226BW from AllIT this afternoon. Great display, no dead pixels (touchwood), but there's one little problem...

I cant get the scaling in NV CP to work.

user posted image

It keeps skipping back to the setting above the moment i hit 'Apply'.

Any ideas?
*
What version of nvidia forceware r u using?Did you change your monitor resolution to the resolution u wanted?

1st u choose a resolution at desktop properties, for example 1280X1024.Then In the NV CP menu choose 'DO NOT SCALE'.The screen will automatically fixed into the resoltuion size u chose just now.Hope it helps u smile.gif

*
So now what resolution u plan to use in gaming? If u want no stretching with two black bar on each side of the screen just follow the step i mentioned just now.

I just purchase the Hp w2207 LCD, and I have to say, the monitor is outstanding. Just bofore, I was using the Samsung 226bw (S-Panel).
From my eyes, the performance of the w2207 seems to be better in every way.
It got hardly no back-lit beeding. The Black is really black. The color is deeper. The screen is viewable at a wide angle without lost in quality. The stand is very flexible to adjust. Got 1:1.
I'm glad that I changed to this monitor, even though it was the most expensive out of the 22 incher at the shop. So far I've only used it with xbox360 and dvd player through vga.
*
Quite interested in the HP 22 inch, coz seldom got people use this screen here.Mind to post some picture?
