You have to spend both. Using a big size monitor, you will need a good GC as well.

But for me, I guess what I can afford and what I need. No need to spend so much. Get what you like.

Westinghouse 30"? Quite popular in [H]ardGayForum over there. Seems to be a very nice monitor, by their say that is.

Not quite true in the fact Dell E228WFP is also new, and it doesn't support 1:1 pixel mapping as well.

Well, Dell 22" only have one model. Its not about the product line, but not newer LCD will have 1:1 support, like Samsung 226BW for example. So best to know is to find reviews for models that interested you and see if they get to mention any support for 1:1. I find forums to be more reliable on this, most reviews only cares about the color/quality.

Hmm, I see. Try ask ngbh or vCool, maybe they got lubang.

I searched in the net previously, hardly can see much LCD can support 1:1, even if there're, most of them are top of the line, which you have to spend >RM1k.

How about from 17" LCD to 24" WS?

I sit quite near to my monitor, when click start or close windos, I have to move head up and down.

I wish I can, but my current table isn't that big, keyboard is about 1 feet away from monitor. I guess the distance between me and monitor is less 1m apart.

Still looking for one ler. Cannot be too big as my room is small.

Too many to consider, narrow down the models instead. 19"? 20"? 22"? 24"? 27"? 30"?

How to get it work? Let's say I want to play CS 1.6 using 800 x 600. How to set? I tried set the monitor resolution to 800x600, and ingame same resolution, but wide mode in OSD still greyed out.

There is WS support, but I don't like it.

I've read through forums and sites, those using 8800, using new drivers will have trouble in 1:1 pixel scaling for WS LCD. The reason behind is that even when you set the desktop resolution to a 4:3 aspect ratio, the monitor will think its still on its native resolution, eg 24" WS 1920 x 1200, that's why unable to select wide mode for my LCD. Some stated 97.XX prove to be able to work with 1:1 scaling, I'm yet to test it out. I've tested 158.22 and 160.XX, no scaling.

4 days is fast. Mine took 7 days, Monday payment confirmed, next Monday arrived.

22" has bigger size compared with 20". Thus you can see the pixel bigger on 22".

Depends on what model you're comparing with. But for now all 22" uses TN panel. Any panel for 20" beside TN panel will be better than 22".
